Anyone able to find anything about this "IT Territory". The only thing I can find on Google is this article. Why the fuck would anyone use the Hero Engine anyway? There are free alternatives that are MUCH better.

The engine is actually pretty cool. It's novel, in a "Invented 20 years ago, but now is getting looked at" kinda way.

HOLY FRIGGIN HOLY HAND GRENADES RABBIT MAN! They were talking about this damn game being developed way back in....shoot...when I was evacuated for Katrina I think.. They still never got this up but still plan to roll it out? SHEESH

They don't ever need to roll it out at this rate. Licensing the engine alone can be very lucrative, and all of the HJ 'development' is serving nicely as proof of concept.

Why? At this point, I'm not sure they plan to use HJ as anything but a technology demonstration for the Hero Engine. At the very least, development on the game is being subsidized by licensing the engire. I got a chance to talk to Tom Z at Simucon and that was basically what he described the situation as.

Horrible PR yes, but only to the 1500 or so people (JUST A NUMBER, I'M NOT INTERESTED IN ARGUING ABOUT HOW MANY SUBSCRIBERS SIMU HAS) that know about it. That's a drop in the bucket for an MMO.
