So far it's been interesting, with everyone revamping their teams. Once franchise tags are dropped on people, I imagine things are going to get real fun.
Alge Crumpler got cut by the Falcons along with Leftwich.
Morgan and 3 starters cut by the Panthers.
Miami just going WOW on the cutting room floor.
Discuss.

There's already talk that Carolina wants Crumpler.
Crumpler and Indy's Clark are now out in the open. Someone's getting paid this off-season.

Tampa has a run on the SB next season.
I'd like to see Clark end up in TB.

That was just the most likely place to put the tag . . .

I *doubt* the Eagles will shop further at the TE spot, but the fact is it could happen. Yes we put the tag on LJ Smith but he hasnt signed the papers yet(he has been holding off hoping to gain some sort of interest from other teams or some BS) so techincally he has not been tagged yet. The birds could drop the offer and sign Alge or make a run for Shockey but I'd be surprised if it happened.

Nothing says a team has to use the franchise tag. They put the tag on Smith because he was an UFA and the best choice on the board at the time. We could have gone after a FA or drafted someone new but we did that last year with Celek and he could turn out to be a player yet, he played alright for a rookie last year. Either way if hes healthy he is the best choice for this year.

I like LJ - but let's face it - he had another injury-filled craptastic year - in a year where we really needed more out of the TE spot. I think Alge would fit fine into the Birds offense and be an upgrade.

Im so confused right now. Your handle is Mr Dallas and you are an Eagles fan?
Back on topic, yeah we could have really used more from the TE last year. I think the lack of a presence in the middle of the field is what stalled our offense so much last year early on. Bottom line is, if LJ is healthy we are a better team, if hes not hes gone next year and Celek takes over. We need to fill out the defense more than we need help on offense imo. franchising Smith lets us focus on the D.

I was hoping the Bengals would make a run at Zach Thomas but it doesn't look like they're interested.
Sounds like Zach Morris will be playing LB again.

If the Bengals end up with any former dolphin I figure it to be Ricky Williams.
