This topic is about songs that deeply touch us. The song I pick is, 'Tears in Heaven' by Eric Clapton. When I was younger, about eight years old, my hero passed away. My grandfather. He meant so much to me, he was my world. This song was played at his funeral, everytime I hear it, I think of how much I miss him, and I struggle not to shed a tear, but I always fail.
What song touches you, and why?

Ocean Colour Scene - The Waves.
Always reminds me of a time when all my mates were happy with their Gf and I was alone. The veiled jealousy was a little much on my part.
Live - Lightning Crashes
The emotion in this song always gets to me, even if I can't relate to it very well.

It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
When I was in high school, the guy I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with was playing football with his friends and was shot in a drive by that was meant for someone else. We were 16 and he was the love of my life. They played that song at his funeral and to this day i cant listen to it.
Cat, still missing Roger 9 years later.

There are a few old songs that make me feel weepy, just recently though that Michael Andrews song: mad world, and the evanesence song: my immortal have touched a nerve.

Have You Ever- Brandy ... only song that ever made me cry.. of course that had a lot to do with what was going on in my life at the time... but it still brings back those feelings, so I usually skip it on the CD.

In my youth I was fortunate to have a man named Leonard Pennario as an aquaintance (I was a bridge a bum, he loved duplicate bridge). Leonard was a concert pianist. I had several opportunities to hear him both in concert and practicing. To thisday, the opening notes of many Racmaninoff pieces will make my hair stand on end.

Evanescence My Immortal really hit hard the first time I heard it. There are quite a few songs I can't listen to without crying though. Usually from my friends funeral or my fathers.
You know, evanescence is actually one of the only alternative bands i like. I like rob zombie too.

Thursday - How Long is the Night
The first time I ever saw them, they closed their set with this song. The whole floor was just a bunch of kids all singing along and the lights were really low. It was probably the most emotional moment I have ever experienced at a concert, and I go to tons of them.
Lyrics:
If we run far away do you think we will ever die?
We'll throw these books in the fire
Can you stop the train
Cause it some delay?
The change machine lied
And it's too late to scream
How long is the night?
It's never over
The ribbon was tied
But the card was never read
The ribbon was crimson
The color of the night
Can you see the handwriting on the walls
And on the autumn leaves that fall
"What are we gonna do?"
The trees are giving up on us
The needle and the thread
Won't stitch us to the branch
And the night never ends
I will never sleep again
(I will never even close my eyes)
If the sun is on its way
Then we will never die
And we'll follow these tracks to the sight
Now the lungs collapse
And the air is getting thin
All breath expired
Is too late to heal?
How long is the night?
It's all I ever see anymore
But the day was so bright in the pictures
In the photo album that you gave me
It's all I have to live for
I'm falling down
And you're not here to break my fall
I shut my eyes when you're around
I hold my breath to kill the sound of your voice
I'm falling down.
And you're not here to break my fall
Other ones include Jessie and My Whetstone by Saves the Day, Short Stories with Tragic Endings by From Autumn to Ashes, The Artist in the Ambulance by Thrice, Milk It by Nirvana.. I could go on forever.
