Level: 3 Deeds: 0
Experience: 16894 Deaths this level: 0
Exp. until next: 606 Death Recovery: 0
Mental TPs: 83 Fame: 31873
Physical TPs: 25 Mana: 8/8 max

Typically, having 83 mana points would be great, but this character is a ROGUE.

I trained her when she turned 2 and she had like 7 mental points left over. So she gets 76 mental and 25 physical?

She's got 70's in her wisdom and aura and her dex and agility are in the 80's, with her strengh even higher?

The hell is up with this?

I don't see anything wrong other than your total Experience looks a little high. what's the problem?

Did you trade in any mental points for physical points in levels 0-2?

Post your stats, race and reallocation level.

I'd be willing to bet that in levels 0-2 you traded in some mental points for physical points, and now that your level is higher, you didn't have to trade those, so you get them back.

Yeah I do.

It just seems rediculous that a rogue would end up with over three times mental poins over physical points.

And as far a trading goes that's alright but it's sucking up twice the points to convert. Seems silly is all.

Oh, I'm reading your post Neff and that seems to make sense.

Rogues have more mental points usually. I tend to use more ptps than mtps. Neff is right, its to do with the conversion process of the new mangler.

Here's what I did. You're always going to end up trading in mental points for physical right? Of course. And at level 100 will it matter if you have 85 int or 100? No. Place your stats for training points, and you'll get a lot more skills.

Meaning: Place your physical stats higher. Mental stats lower. You'll be kind've gimped mentally in the beginning, but by level 20 your mental stats will be..eh...mid 50s, 60s. It'll seem like you're WASTING points by having 100 Dexterity or whatever at level 5, but in the end you're earning more. Sure, you gain more points by raising your fast growing stats first, but remember the points you're getting for placing for stat growth are mostly mental points that you're just going to trade in at a 1-2 ratio anyway. So what's the point?

Check that out. I'd set it at 3 to 1 physical/mental and set the iterations for at least 10000, then tweak whatever comes out to fit what you'll be happy playing. You'll be a lot happier and stronger with more skills.

Wisdom is important for disarming. Intuition is (a bit less) important for dodging. Remember that not all mental stats are completely useless before you go all Neff-crazy.

Of course, if you aren't doing anything with a stat, it doesn't mean you won't EVER be doing anything with that stat. Go read Commandant's blatantly outdated guide if you want specific examples.

Wisdom effects picking as well.

"PICK will allow you to try the Pick Lock skill, with the right tools. Your success at opening the lock is determined by a die roll, your statistics (Wisdom and Dexterity), your skill, magical aids given by spells, and the difficulty of the lock you are attempting to open."

Well yes, they have effects. And by all means if you want to be a hardcore picker have high int and wisdom. I'm just more focused on hunting than picking myself. If I was a pure picker, i'd have 90s in int and wisdom. Otherwise they stay low. At level 26(which neff is) placing 30 in wis and 20 in int will get me around 58 and 50. That's enough to provide a positive bonus, which is good enough for me.

Now int, I do not believe, effects picking and disarming. I know Dex and Wis do, and I know int used to have an effect.

Int has a Int/10 in there somewhere i'm pretty sure. Dex and wis both have /4 I'm pretty sure. They're the big ones.
