So, I was at school tonight and what should I see? A chick with fucked-up feet wearing sandals.

As much of a problem I have with chicks with fucked up feet that wear sandals, flip-flops, or otherwise open-toed shoes, I have a problem with guys who have "nice-looking feet".

Ladies, you should have beautiful feet, guys we should have fucked up feet...Not the other way around. Here's my guide to tell if you have nice feet or fucked up feet. This works for both guys and ladies, but I will start with the former.

Guys:

Let's face it...We're guys. Even when we try to be careful, we still fuck up our feet occassionally, right? I mean, if we're not breaking our toes on coffee tables and end tables, we're cutting them on glass we stumbled across when we swam in the river that time with no shoes on, or drop heavy shit on them like logs and concrete blocks, or have the occassional fork lift drive over our toes, or any other accident that when other guys hear about it, their balls crawl around (Come on, you know what I'm talking about, that strange feeling you get when your balls crawl around after hearing about something painful)...You get the point. If you're a guy, and you have what might be passed off as "nice-looking feet" by other guys you know, you are most assuredly ghey, and need your ass whipped, and your "nice-looking feet" pounded by a 5-lb. maul.

And to be honest, even if none of the above happens, we still get bad feet. We either have hammer toes, or a bad case of athlete's foot, or ingrown toenails, or toe jam, or toenail fungus...You get the point.

Now ladies:

Ladies, ladies, ladies...Unlike men, you should have absolutely, positively, without-a-doubt beautiful feet. If you do not, do not wear shoes that reveal those ugly, or as I call them, fugly (fucking ugly), feet. Your feet should be soft, hairless, petite (though large feet *can* be sexy, if they are well kept, and fit the rest of your body), and most importantly, free from blemishes, such as blisters and scabs. I mean, the most stressful thing your feet should have ever experienced was that time you wore tube socks, and a part of it got bunched up beside your little toe and you thought you were going to die from the bruising you were sure you suffered from during that ordeal.

So, how do you tell if you have ugly feet? Remember, this question works for both guys and girls. Here's a little checklist:

Questions to ask yourself. Keep score:

1. Do you have hammer toes?
a. If you're a guy, and you answered yes, add 2 points to your score.
b. If you're a guy, and you answered no, deduct 2 points to your score.
c. If you're a girl, and you answered yes, deduct 1000 points.
d. If you're a girl, and you answered no, add 2 points.

2a. Do you have athlete's foot?
a. If you're a guy, and you answered yes, add 2 points to your score.
b. If you're a guy, and you answered no, deduct 2 points to your score.
c. If you're a girl, and you answered yes, deduct 100,000 points.
d. If you're a girl, and you answered no, add 2 points.

2b. If you answered yes to 2a, is it so bad that your heel or the sole of your foot is cracked and bleeding?
a. If you're a guy, and you answered yes, add 2 more points to your score.

c. If you're a girl, and you answered yes, deduct 1,000,000,000,000...fuck it, cut your fucking feet off now, and quit.
d. If you're a girl, and you answered no, add 2 points.

3. Do you have toe jam?
a. If you're a guy, and you answered yes, add 2 points to your score.
b. If you're a guy, and you answered no, deduct 2 points to your score.
c. If you're a girl, and you answered yes, deduct 100,000 points.

4. Do you have ingrown toenails?
a. If you're a guy, and you answered yes, add 2 points to your score.

5. Have you ever broken a toe, and it has mended at a fucked-up angle?

Now, tally up your score. Ladies, if you have less than 10 points, do not wear any shoe that can reveal those fugly bastards. Really, wear boots. You know, the kind that lace up all the way to your knees? I mean, we don't even want to take a chance that they can "accidentally" escape and terrorize anyone.

Guys, if you scored less than 6 points, then you need your ass whipped.

New Soapbox rant, dated Wednesday, February 13, 2008.

All this talk about skinny people has given me a new thing to rant on.

In the last 18 months, I have lost in excess of 165 lbs. I am at a healthy 200 pounds, and I feel great! Better than I have in more than 15 years.

Anyway, to the point...

Now, I'm healthy, and people at work are starting to be nice to me. I'm not talking about my friends, or those I work with regularly...I'm talking about those people you pass in the hallway and say, "Hi" to, but they keep walking without saying another word to you. Now, when I pass some of those same people in the hall, I get smiles and they say, "Hi," to me first.

What pisses me off is I'm the same person, just easier to look at, I guess. And now, all of the sudden I'm worthy of being nice to, since I'm not the fat person they saw in the hallways everyday. I know I sound like I'm a hurt little bitch, but really I'm a person of principle.

If I'm worthy of your attention now, but I wasn't previously...Fuck off.

As for the losing weight thing...in the Peace Corps I dropped to 175 @ 6', and people were positively falling all over me. It was sickening, in a way. What bothered me was I started caring how I looked and obsessing over it, and once I realized that, I was like, shit, need to stop....but then of course, I gained all the weight back. :P

The new people who notice you are other 7's who want to be friends with you now. They will give you the time of day and might find you interesting now that they can look at you comfortably. You know, in Drisco's defense, this statement is actually true. I attended some support groups for hyper weight loss people, and in every case, what Drisco supplied has been reported by other people who have lost a great deal of weight. Suddenly after losing weight, they also recognized that other people suddenly found more "worth" in them after losing the weight, and as a result, many marriages fail as a result of hyper weight loss. If the marriage was bad before the weight loss, it gets worse for the reason Drisco stated. If it was good before the weight loss, it gets better. The same has been reported of friendships, too.

The implications about it be "right" or "OK", however are just plain wrong. A person's worth is in his character, not his appearances. If I made snap judgements about people based solely on their appearances, I would have missed out on some of the greatest friendships I have.

I could almost understand your POV looking back on it had you mentioned that in your initial post. No one is arguing that attractive people don't make more money than unattractive people. What people are saying is level of attractiveness of a person a majority of the time wont effect saying Hi to someone as they pass you in a hallway at work. I couldn't post a gripe yesterday because work is real busy, but I have time now...So, here we go.

A year and a half ago, I walked out to my car in the parking deck here at work. The closer I got to my car, I noticed a piece of paper stuck under my windshield wiper. I opened the piece of paper, and it read, "Hi Mike!"

At first, I didn't pay much attention to it, but then I noticed the "I's" were dotted with hearts, and there was a big heart drawn under the message. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little flattered.

I went home that night, and the more I thought about it, the more I convinced myself that some of my friends at work was just fucking with me, so I brought the letter back to work and confronted them about it. They denied having anything to do with it, and I believed them.

A couple of weeks later, I'm walking out to my car again, and I noticed something stuck in the driver's side door window sill. It's a piece of plastic confetti that reads, "I love you." Then, as suddenly as it starts, it stops. No other communications of this sort for a year and a half.

Yesterday (Valentin's Day), I get an inner-office mailing. It was an envelope that has my first and last name on it, with my office number. I open it, and there is a peice of paper in the envelope that reads, "Happy Valentin's Day!" Again, the "I's" are dotted with hearts, and another large heart is drawn under the message. It is obviously penned by the same woman. My friends happen to be here this time when I open the message, and we all noticed perfume had been sprayed on the note.

This is driving me nuts. I want to know who it is without letting her know I know who she is. How do I do this? How do I narrow this person down out of a 2000-employee company spread over 3 buildings? Here are my thoughts: I think she's shy, I think it is someone I must see and/or pass regularly in the hallways, and I think she must be extremely desperate :).

Any ideas?
