Looking for a top notch brawling weapon. Wonder what the selection is like out there, which ones are considered "the best" etc.

Do you plan to use these weapons until you become a monk?

Voln Fu is the best brawling weapon.

The Greater White Ora Gauntlet Sword is pretty high end. There are a few pretty nice 7x Perfect Katars out there which have the newer blessable flares and what not. There are likely a few 8x Perfects available as well. I am going to run with any weapon that is perfect forged and enhanced in some way via merchants are going to be among the top-tier.

I have a 6x fire flaring Fist-scythe that is pretty strong as flares go. Weighted brawlers are quite rare, especially with those weighted to a useful degree.

I gave Nilandia a nice 7x cold flaring sai.

really as far as I'm concerned the only decent brawling weapon to use as your main would be katars and those require edged weapon training which sort of defeats the purpose.

The next best would be fist-scythes but even with those you just plink away at the target bit by bit and it takes forever to kill anything particuarly at later levels when everything has huge amounts of blood. everything below fist-scythes suck tremonously.

Orginally I had a cleric as my main who would brawl and then I coverted him to a paladin who brawled using TWC with fist-scythes. Even with 30 ranks of mstrike and hitting targets (8)? times at once it still took forever to kill things with armor above double.

I would guess if you rolled up a rogue and ambushed everythingin in the eye with a sai you'd be in business. Since you're looking for a high-end item I'd suppose with a high-enchant item the added AS would help offset the horrendous avd and it'd be a little easier for you.

p.s

bring out monks already so I can covert my pally!

Damn, if Paladins can convert to monks its bye bye for me. Think about it, a cleric converts to paladin converts to monk. Essentially everyone has a freebie to convert to monk at any level, that diminishes the monk class to where I don't even want to attempt to play. I have no idea why Simu would make this stupid move.

Prolly just buy myself a capped paladin for 92 cents and convert to Monk. Start snapping up those capped paladins now people!! Profit ahead!

I have a 4x perfect sai, but I kind of want to get it further enchanted and made into an uber weapon.

Get it to 10x, then when Ironwright comes by get it heavily crit weighted. REAL uber then... or just wait till monks come out sometime this year. Who knows maybe they'll get crit weighted hands and feet.

can you even heavily crit weight a sai? never heard of one so maybe it isnt mechanically possible?

You can crit weight anything with Ironwight as long as you have 2 mil.

I know nothing about ironwright. How many times a year does he come? does he announce it or is it random? Its 2m to go to heavy, or 2m per level?

Durfin posted his entire encounter with Ironwright, search his posts.

Ironwright offered to add up to heavy crit or damage weighting on FORGED weapons only. And ONLY if they were brought in by the person who forged them, I believe was the other stipulation.

And he wouldn't touch anything over 8x.

He charged me 4m or so to put HCW on a 4x mattock with superior forging...created by me.
