Okay, I mentioned this before, but it's been almost a month now and it's starting to piss me off. Someone gimme some ideas or something. Here's the skinny:

I can't get to these message boards from my home ISP. I can get to it at work or at school, but not from home. I bascially just get a "this page cannot be displayed" at home. I've been using a Proxy to get around this, so that I can still check these boards at home, but using the proxy is annoying.

I also DO NOT actually think it's a problem with my ISP. Here's why. My ISP has no trouble resolving the IP of forum.gsplayers.com with its DNS server. Here's a traceroute:

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1
2 17 ms 11 ms 11 ms 10.111.48.1
3 25 ms 14 ms 12 ms 66-168-240-97.static.mtgm.al.charter.com [66.168

6 18 ms 27 ms 15 ms ggr2.attga.ip.att.net [12.122.81.153]
7 18 ms 18 ms 28 ms 192.205.33.90
8 17 ms 18 ms 15 ms atl-core-01.inet.qwest.net [205.171.21.97]
9 18 ms 18 ms 17 ms atx-edge-02.inet.qwest.net [205.171.21.6]
10 16 ms 21 ms 20 ms 65.114.8.194
11 21 ms 20 ms 19 ms 209.51.131.250

As you can see, it gets out of my ISP to the ATT backbone, to the QWEST backbone, and then starts taking a shit on itself.

WTF is going on here?

Did you try one of the following:

A) Calling your ISP?

B) Resetting your router?

C) Sledgehammer?

D) Prayer.

I run into this type of thing at work, and it's always been a problem at the ISP level.

Couple things I'd try first.. if you know anyone else that uses Charter Cable as their ISP, try getting to the website from there.

Try alternate computers on your set up at home.

Remove the LinkSys router and try plugging straight in to the modem.

I don't know how helpful that is, but the basic troubleshooting is usually the most effective.

THis shit is particularly pissing me off today. Forum doesn't refresh properly on a proxy.

PM me the IP address from where you are blocked.

From the tracert, I gather your ISP has blocked it. If Kranar can't find anything for you, my suggestion is calling your ISP.

Request timeouts are pretty common in tracerts even if there are no problems between you and the destination. Usually anything over 15 hops is pretty unreliable... in my (not too extensive) experience.

I agree, but if he can't connect to the forums unless he goes through a proxy, the issue just seems to stem from the ISP.

No disagreement there, I just wouldn't trust the TraceRT.

Oh and just because the emoticon popped up (every now and then I get the "other" set of emoticons as options): :compbash:

:pizza:

As far as odd issues go,

Kranar, did you leave some sort of flag .ico for your form1.url icony-thing. There's a little red dot encirlced by six other littler red dots.

And it's freaking me out man! PREDATOR, TAKE AIM. DANNY GLOVER, RUN NOW.

You mean the Favicon? The icon that appears next to the address in your favorites? Otherwise you're doing the normal stanley makes no sense thing again. (The Favicon appears to be the standard VBulletin icon)

I don't know. It just appeared now for the first time ever. And it's showing in other vBulletins. That's weird as hell.

And no, I did not just upgrade from a 486 to the Lappy 9000 :-[

I'm having the issue that I mentioned in the OP again now.

I haven't been able to log onto the board from home without a proxy server for about a week now. This is so annoying.

I have no problems at school or anywhere else, but from my home ISP I cannot connect. Please read OP for details.

Here's a new traceroute too:
