Is there a difference in the succes rate (for knocking creatures down) from casting e-wave to using a magic item with e-wave in it?

Nope, but I find it an interesting question. My warrior used one rather successfully, so I'm going to assume it's strictly level-based, but you never know.

It'd be interesting to get a ranger to imbue some cheap items and a wizard or sorc to run about 100 tests with each.
