Ok some days (like today) I just wake up and it's like I don't feel anything. I'm not happy or angry and the most I can feel is this like dull sadness. I don't even want to be anywhere around people and I barely talk at all. Am I the only one that ever gets like this?
(And as a warning I'm ten times more likely to start fights in this mood because it's just like I don't care because I can't feel anything)

Depression.

Are you one of those people that gets seasonally depressed?
And I don't think it's abnormal to feel like that. Everyone feels sort of empty sometimes.

I have times like that, when it seems like an effort to even communicate with people, let alone feel emotion.
I think its just part of life, and growing up. We cant be happy all the time, sometimes there just isnt much worth shouting about.
I'd worry more if you felt like that for weeks on end, that would be depression perhaps, but if its just some days here and there its just cos your normal.
As for the starting fights thing, some days I do it on purpose with my family, its like I want to argue so I can shout and stuff. I always end up feeling like a bitch and saying sorry the next day though.

Well I'm usually smart in choosing the arguements and choosing something I know I won't be around about. I don't think I get seasonally depressed, I just woke up today and felt really empty.
I think everyone gets like that sometimes. I know I do.
I usually call up my best guy friend and talk to him for a while. He seems to have the ability to always put me in a good mood. :)

Seasonal depression can be serious. I would probably try to find something that you know you'll enjoy doing, and do it.
Watch a favorite movie or go see a new one, get some physical exercise to up the level of endorphins -- a nice long walk is good. Read a great book and take a break from the online community, which can be a very negative place.
I like to go to the stores, as most times, I find something for other people, which makes me happy. And there's the perpetual holiday tunes on the muzak box, which often get me humming.

Today we should all feel good though, we've captured Saddam Hussein. Regardless of your position on the war, Iraquis are now free of the petty tyrant.
Lauryn Hill told the pope to get real about the sexual abuse commited by priests.
It's a good day.
I'm always happy and chipper.

You think someone else won't just take his place? The US put him there in the first place.

I tried going out, only made it worse by being around my parents and fighting them. Being in the house aroudn them was just as bad. I try to stay alone in my room and I have my dad come down and start bugging me to the point where I wanted to scream at him for trying to be nice.
I tried showering and only felt really out of it from that. Playing GS isn't that bad except I started fights with some friends in it. So basically... I'm just sitting and playing Poppit on AOL.
Play Bejeweled or Alchemy! I love those games. :)

Oh, Leloo, sweetheart, of course you are not the only one who feels like that from time to time. It is part of being human. If you feel like that often, and for extended periods of time, you may be suffering from depression. Otherwise, you are just having one of those off days that we all have, hon.
Play games that do not involve dealing with others for awhile, like you are doing. Go outside for a walk, if you can. Talk to the puppy. Puppies do not talk back! :)
HarmNone has felt this too. It will pass. Honest it will.

Actually I think it may be more than depression. I went to lay down to see if I'd feel better and I got all dizzy and like it felt like everything was really far away.

I kid, I kid. Try getting up and doing something. Usually helps for me.

Whatever it is, if it's making you dizzy and it is an unusual thing, go to a medical doctor.
The two things could be totally unrelated, but you never know.
I have seasonal affective disorder, but I don't notice any dizziness when I'm feeling the blahs.
I also have some kind of menstrual problem and need to get it checked out, but I'm guessing it's some kind of pre-menapausal shit going on when I get my period, since it's only just started happening in the last 6 months - and doesn't happen any other time of the month. (That rules out a whole lot of possible gynecological issues)
For all you know you could simply be low on iron and need to boost your intake. Or maybe niacin. Only a medical doctor and blood workup will tell for sure, and a pinprick is definitely a reasonable price to pay for good health, mental and physical.

Well my parents think it may be due to the diet I've been on. I've been on it since July and they think it's putting a major stress on my body and I'm lacking lots of nutrients and foods that my body needs. I was feeling really dizzy about a week ago too. Plus lately (Friday and Saturday) my eyes were bothering me again.

...then why are you still on the diet?
GSLeloo

Because the diet is really good. It's actually really healthy, lots of vegi's and fruits and it works but... it also cuts out most fats and sugars that are in the pyramid... I don't think it's the diet but I don't really know. We could also go the other way and blame it on my birth control pill.

If a doctor isn't monitoring your diet, then you shouldn't be on one longer than a few weeks.
Occasional fasts are good for you, a day or two a year, and juice fasts for a week every year are awesome.
But if you are truly in need of losing weight for *health* reasons (not just because you think you look fat), then you should be monitored by a doctor.
No sugars or fats? That's just nuts. Your body *needs* sugars. Carbohydrates convert to sugars in the system, but high-carb diets aren't the answer. Fruits provide a lot of the sugars you need, but we're not living in a pollution-free society like the cavemen did. And I heard you mention fruits and vegetables...what about meats? You need protein that you just plain can't get from veggies. Peanutbutter's alright, but it'll constipate you if that's the only source you get. Fish is good, plus it contains oils and fatty acids that your body needs.
In short, unless your doctor has ORDERED you to be on this diet, get the hell off it and eat sensibly. Otherwise all you're doing is begging for a trip to the hospital. And they won't put you on a diet. They'll just shove a tube down your throat instead.

It depends on what you're on. My friend Leah was on some generic birth control that Planned Parenthood gave her, and it really messed with her horomones and such. She switched off that and onto the stuff that I take (Organon, I believe it's called?) and now she's fine.
What I would do is go grab your pills and read the side effects... if they sound like what how you're feeling, stop taking them and see if you feel better. If you do... get your perscription changed!

I've actually been switched to a higher dosage of birth control pills. These are called Ovcon and they are a pretty strong dosage. Plus with the diet, it's 3 vegi's, 3 fruits, 2 proteins, 2 starches, and 1 fat a day.

It could be related to the diet, hon. The only way to know for sure is to see your physician. If you are feeling bad physically, this is something you really need to do.
Low moods are not that unusual, but if you start feeling dizzy and weak it is time to get a professional opinion.

Because the lesser dosage just wasn't effective?
GSLeloo

The lesser dosage worked and then I think my body started fighting against it and I started to like have my period for three weeks straight (I could've been checked into a mental hospital after that). So we had to up the prescription.

I'm on Ovcon 35. Sometimes, you have to try and use different dosages or brands to find the right levels for you. Do you smoke? That can also affect it, like..depression. I am not saying that is the only factor though.
How long have you been feeling like this? (empty and dizzy) If it is a period over three weeks, I suggest speaking to a doctor and psychiatrist about it.
Another thing to think about is your diet. Just because a diet seems healthy, you might be missing out on certain vitamins and such. Some fats are good for you, and sugar should not be taken away entirely either.
I can not fully state anything at the moment. Reasons being because I do not know you and your situation right now, as well as your past affiliations with medications and personal life. Again, I suggest speaking with a doctor or psychiatrist.

ROFLMAO. Nice shot, Beth.
Leloo, coming to the boards for support and express concern is fine, but please don't take medical advice from here, even from some people that like to write volumes of text as though they were professionals.
Serious medical issues should always be looked into by a doctor, not some arm-chair physicians.
It could be nothing, it could be something, but the answer won't be found here. Please, call your doctor on Monday.
lol, nice... I was gonna say, sounds to me like she just needs a good man.
