TIS THE SEASON FOR THE SQUEAZIN!

Yes, its that favorite time of the year again... NO NOT VALENTINES!

Its Tax Time!

Just ran through the 1st draft of my federal income taxes and things dont look too shabby. Still have some detail work to do on itemizations and deductions along with chasing down some miscellaneous info... but beyond that SO FAR SO GOOD!

Looks like the only taxes I'll have to pay this year are property taxes. :)
(Especially since I dont have to pay state income taxes)

That makes baby jesus smile.

Im fucked because I have 1099 & W-2 to deal with. Not too many expenses to deduct either.

means you have to fill out the whole 1040, can't use the quick form, hehe.

if you were working away from your tax home, you can claim per diem.

My only expenses are mileage, and a portion of my rent (in this case). I'm too lazy to factor in software/hardware depreciation, so it's all mostly profit.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I love having someone else do my taxes. A tax attorney I will never be.

I also love that I'm going to have tons of friends who will be tax attorneys.

I have to claim about $30k on a 1099 and then just my regualr stuff for my salary. I hate having to get paid commission as an independant contractor... I hope school carries me for some free money...

I just make 50 different 1099's for $550.

You should try it!

I enjoy usint TurboTax.

This will probably be the last year I do my taxes myself though. 2008 taxes are going to be more complicated than I will have time for. Which is a symptom of some very good things. :)

I would have been done with my taxes days ago, but I'm still waiting on a 1099. I'm going to be getting medieval with a certain bank if I don't receive it within 3 more days.
