So, I drove last night to South Bend, took about 10 hours with 3 tiny breaks... Holy crap, I thought Rochester NY and Syracuse NY were behind. The pot holes are the size of 27" TVs, the road layout is sloppy as shit and wtf no HSBC or Bank of America...
Apparently the city is run down due to the banks in the area I guess fucking over tons of investments... But man, I don't know if I can do this. It's cheap to live, but I didn't think people lived this way. And fuck Grape St and fuck RT 933.
Least the townhouse we got is ok... Kinda small... I'm done ranting.

Well you kinda picked a bad weather time to come, and considering the pot holes happened because we had a 40 degree temp drop in 3 1/2 hours and that fucked the roads. It's not THAT bad.

Did you think I was kidding about tire insurance?

I honestly don't know what your standards are, but South Bend appeared picturesque to me. Of course I can go to most areas of Chicago that have astronomical rent and lease rates and think they're over priced shit holes. To me, well, that's a shit hole.
I always thought rat problems were issues in the ghetto, the same with lingering scents from the sewers. Seems to be pretty common in almost every metropolitan area.
If banking is your problem. Just utilize direct deposit and online banking then use your bank/debit card at any LaSalle bank in the area at no charge (you would know this if you had bothered to use the BoA web page).

You seem to be taking all of this quite personally. I think it's time to get the fuck over it.

Maybe it's you that needs to get the fuck over it? Or maybe you just need to shut your pie hole.
He has moved to a town that is pretty much considered a rural area outside of campus. It's a different element. If someone raised in an asphalt jungle thinks it's a shit hole ... they really need to take a look at what they consider "not a shit hole". And I'm sorry, but when an area isn't considered a shit hole, yet you still have a good risk of getting mugged and seeing a rat or roach on a daily basis ... and this is considered "normal" ... I'll take the shit hole any day.

rofl, i'm not the one getting my panties in a bunch because other people don't so much like where i'm from. I think you need a nice bukkake in your pie hole, you fucking cry baby.

Honestly, what the fuck are you talking about? Who's supposedly from this "asphalt jungle", and that deals with rats and roaches and muggings on a daily basis? Do you even know what the fuck you're talking about? No one's peeing in your fucking cereal just because they think the area you're from is a shit hole. It's not like you designed it/made it/run it or anything.

What's even funnier is that you're taking it so personally and you're not even from the area. Also, way to not answer my question. In case you weren't able to see my question with the big fat emo tears in your eyes, i'll repeat it.

That's pretty damn funny. You didn't like my response to a post I didn't like ... and I'm the one taking it personally. Looks like a bit of projection there toots.

Emo tears ... I've got to remember that one.
Unfortunately, it appears the emo tears welled up enough in your eyes to just jump in and toss the shit.
Rochester has a population of 211k, a median income of 27k, 1,260 violent crimes per 100k, and 6,142 property crimes per 100k.
South bend has a population of 105k , a median income of 32,439, 706 violent crimes per 100k, and 6,994 per 100k.
Wow ... South Bend is sure a shit hole in comparison isn't it.

It's just a different kind of shit hole is all.
But like I said earlier...fuck the ROC. Only thing good in that city was Nick Tahoe's garbage plate and I heard they fucked that up too.

The difference between us though, is that i'm not mad, or even a little frustrated, and not even close to upset. I'm actually quite amused that my opinion on South Bend has been upsetting you since my first post, in which you took offense to my use of the word "shithole". I never "disliked" a post of yours, I "lol'd" at them, and felt the irresistable urge to point out what a dumbass you're being. The fact that you think you could even upset me is freaking priceless though.
And yes, South Bend is a shithole.

I guess it could have been your countless cry baby posts in this thread where you act like someone ass-raped your mother rather than talking shit about South Bend.

Projection ... look into it. I can't help it that you read whatever inflection you choose to project into a post.
Seems to me that I said something that pissed you off ... perhaps you should go back and find out what it was and then let me know.
The last thing I need on this board is another skinned knee bitch following me around.

Whatever you can convince yourself of to get you through the day right? Maybe one day you'll actually be right and you will make an impact on someone that's stronger than a weak fart.
If only for once in my life I could get a bitch to follow ME around.
Fixed for accuracy.

QFT x2. It's run down & shabby looking, ghetto wanna-be area but not a big enough population to actually BE ghetto, just look like it.
Been there more times than I care to due to relatives & we had to drive through most of the damn town to get there so it's not like I haven't seen the dump.

Well, I got stuck do to the snow storm up 90 so I had to drive back a bit and stay at a hotel. Hoping to leave by 2ishpm to drive back to Rochester (I need to pack still and get some college things taken care f).
However, my views on everything are pretty simple. I grew up in Syracuse NY and recently moved to Rochester. When I compare a living area, I compare it to that. The roads here are all ultra narrow and it seems like no one does the speed limit of 45 (constantly going either 15-25). The little amount of snow on the ground appears to have everyone in a panic.
As for the bank issue, my post was referring to the city as a whole. Some townie told me that South Bend is in it's state because the banks went bankrupt with people's investments. I don't know any South Bend history.
MY ISSUE with the bank is I have an HSBC and there isn't one. My girlfriend belongs to Bank of America and hasn't found one. We did know of LeSalle however.
When driving through the area, I'm reminded of very low income homes, everything is dirty and run down from the outside. The pot holes are rough, but if they just happened due to a 40 degree weather drop, I'll live. But the majority of the street and housing I've seen remind me of downtown Syracuse and the south side. Like, "Oh shit, lock the doors!"
I didn't grow up rich and I didn't go up in an awesome area. But it is if the really bad areas of Syracuse got stretched out and copied. I am sure just THIS area I've seen is bad and there will be a nicer area soon to come.
