Archery - Am I lost?

I've come back to GemStone after a long hiatus and have decided to give archery a try. The problem is I did not decide this until this past week. My little ranger is level 12. Here are his stats.

My fear is that his strength is too low to utilize a long bow properly. He will not have a bonus of +10 until level 24 and a bonus of +20 at level 84. Is there any hope for this character to be a successful archer? Despite his low level, I am not someone who has alot of spare time, so rerolling him is something I am trying to avoid.

Do I get a stat fix at all? Would I be competitive with a short bow? Deliver me Player's Corner people! Thanks for your time.

It's actually taken me closer to two months honestly, but then again, my time to is fairly limited these days (e.g. grad school, internship, part-time job, girlfriend, and social life). Thanks for the suggestion, I may take it up instead of having a more difficult time as my character grows older.

If you found it taxing to level then there's probably no point in me telling you about fixstats at the Adventurers Guild.
It will either take lots of investment in your own points or the same investment in gathering the coins for the potion.
Unless real dollars are lying around you can use to buy a potion.

Haha, ok, I'm convinced. I plugged some numbers into Tsoran's training and I'm happy now with them I think. If anyone is interested in seeing them...

I think that solves my archery woes. AGL takes a hit from what I had with my current character at level 0, but it's one of the faster growing stats.

Been trying to get my alliance rogues attack power up most of last nights gaming.

No prob... I would recomend that a person with limited time not concern themselves overly with growth, and let the chips fall where they may, the results of min/maxing over that much time aren't worth it to a casual gamer.

In line with that I wouldn't worry if you can't use a long bow, unless it's a major RP issue you should be generating enough AS and hit margin that you could tear up with a composite bow.

My ranger uses a composite bow for the most part and has been doing great. Granted she's only 28 but she hunts awesome with it.

My husband had given me a 5x longbow to play around with, but it adds another second or two of roundtime, so I'm still evaluating if the extra 5 AS is worth slowing down a bit for.
