Same. I have the Garmin Nuvi 350 and have had no issues at all. Never tried the Tom-tom.

Since Garmin is one of the pioneers in the GPS industry - I would choose that if I were in the market for one.

With the nuvi 350. It shouts out street names as well as distance? For example...

Turn right in 100 feet at John St.

Does it do that?

The problem I have is... We bought a Tomtom, which is still sealed and I can return it. The Garmin was just bought for us as a present. We can return either. The Garmin is $100 more, but I see the screen is smaller and it uses different technology.

So far:

Tomtom 0 - Garmin 3

I poked around some websites before I decided on Garmin. It says what street to turn on. Typically it'll give you a heads up for a few miles away (if on a highway), one at a couple hundred feet away and one when you're at the turn.

It hasn't been 100% perfect for me.
1) I've had one situation where it told me to drive through a building in Newark but I hadn't updated the maps in a while.
2) There was one area that seemed like it bounced my signal about half a mile east of my actual position, no idea what causes that.
3) The suction mount for the glass sucks donkey penis, don't try using that. Almost got into an accident when it fell off, wrapped the charger cord around the shift and put me into neutral while pulling onto the highway.

Yes, it will do that.

Australian Karen (the best voice!) might say:

"In one mile, turn right on Goodman Avenue."

Then, as you get closer to the turn:

"In point 2 miles, turn right on Goodman Avenue, then keep left."

The screen automatically zooms in on the intersection or turn whenever she wants you to turn, which helps too.

The Garmin Nuvi 350 is one of the best pieces of technology I have acquired in the past two years.

----

"Recalculating."

Someone could make some money on an aftermarket add-on that changes her personality. Bitchy Ex-wife Karen, Insecure Karen, Mother-in-law Karen. Just miss a turn and see what she says. Hehe.

OOoooh lala.

A soft sexy female british/australian accent would be the bomb.

I so wished for something like that when I was a constant Hertz (neverlost) customer.

They need to have a celebrity voice download option where you pay extra to hear your favorite actor/entertainer/singer's voice.

If you havent got it the friction mount base is the best option to keep it from falling.

Question of the day... what can I do with a GARMIN GPS 126 MARINE unit for fun.

I have a Garmin 126 (marine) sitting in my garage. I wonder if there is anything cool to do with it other than sell it or burn it. I already sold my boat but kept my electronics but there must be some sort of something or other I can do with this fuker.

Yeah I see them going for $99. But I want to have fun with it... I think I may try to install it on my bike for shits and giggles and have it live update a website .

Those work great in golf carts too.

Set destinations on it that have it say, "You have arrived at: Some very fine piece of ass" and stuff it done the front of your pants. Turn it on when you walk up to a hottie and pretend your penis is talking.
