I haven't played in almost 4 years, had a lot of RL stuff to take care of, decided I might finally come back soon, how hard is it going to be to get my character up to par with the new systems?
Back then she was a two weapon user with a lot of ambushing & hiding skills. Is that still viable or should I think of another path? (60 Dark Elf)

Thanks, know of any good information pages on stats, skills... etc that I should read before diving in head first?

You played during GSIII, right? Then you should be able to change stats and instantly migrate skills on the GOALS page.
There haven't really been any guides written since IV's inception. Its hard to get it wrong, there's a wide range of training paths and deviations within any chosen archtype that would make a successful hunting character.

Nilandia.com, Krakiipedia.com for the basics

Yeah, a little bit during 4 too I think... it's been so long. Is lockpicking any good or are you better off putting all your skills in hunting areas?

What kind of rogue did you want to be? As in do you want to be primarily a hunter, or do a bit of both, or mostly a picker?
Lockpicking is still very functional, and with the lockmastery guild skills, it makes it even more interesting.

I was a pure hunter the last time I played. I used to like picking before I stopped though, and the lockmastery skills kinda peaked my interest

Well since you'll start with a fixskills (since you haven't played in a while), try a path with lockpicking in it for a little while. If you find that it's not your thing, redo it to a full hunting path instead. It doesn't hurt to try it. And then in May you'll get another fixskills if you wish to try something else as well.

How come they are giving another one in May? Is it a common thing now to get fixskills?

The thing about lockpicking at lower levels is that you can't really do much with it until 10 or so. You can probably pick your own boxes, but you run the risk of scarabs, not being able to see them until you have like 30 perception or something.
So, if you're going to start with lockpicking, be patient and give it a bit before you expect some rewards from it. =D

The OP is reopening an existing character, well over 10.
