425 Rounding Error?

Ok, since as long as I can remember, having 74 ranks of minor elemental has resulted in +50 to CS/AS. My CS has been 512 for about 8 months or a year now, and in the past hour it just dropped to 511 (culprit is +49 bonus from 425, I checked, and yes it was 512 as of the 2nd to last time I hunted over an hour ago). Can anyone else with exactly 74 ranks of minor elemental check to see that I'm not crazy?

A bug in the accrual calculation for the bonus from Minor Elemental spell ranks beyond 25 was fixed last night. The bonus can be calculated as ((E-MnE - 25) / 2), where E-MnE is the caster's effective Minor Elemental spell ranks limited by their level.

The net result of this change shifts the levels at which an additional bonus accrues from even (26, 28, 30, etc.) levels to odd (27, 29, 31, etc.) levels, capping at 75 MnE Ranks.

We should demand fixskills. It's just a pain in the ass migrating spells, so that will be a week or more until I can swap 1 spell for 1 spell. Stupid.

Other spells that give bonuses at intervals, do they round up, down, truncate, or what with the bonus? If they round down or truncate then I can understand this change, probably very little effort/time went into it, for something no one really would see as a good thing, but whatever.

Fixskills is a bit much over this...

I think this change was spawned from a discussion on the official Wizard's boards about capped spell training and getting the maximum benefit off of the spells. It was noted that the spells' bonuses(for 425 and 430) worked differently than what was documented.

Fils capped the 400 circle at 74 ranks at around level 60ish. I guess it's not a huge deal at Fils current level, but now that means I lost CS for the next 5 levels, or until I can get that circle to rank 75, which is only one more spell, but five more levels away to max it's benifit.

Once again, they do some change though, that changes the way you look at training up your character.

O well, it will be re-maxed when I have the points for another spell, then back to dumping near all points into my MjE circle.

Changes like these make me glad I'm not a min/maxer. I can't imagine sweating over 1 point in any statistic.
