I'm a huge Sig man and have carried one for 10 years now. But the 10 years part is the problem... I've gained 50-60 pounds since.
My p229 while smaller than a full has become uncomfortable on my strong side waste due to my FAT BELLY.
Sooooo I'm going to get something smaller and the sig 232 / 239 don't do it ofr me. There is a new 220 compact (6+1) that I need to get my hands on for a session but does anyone have some personal experience to share on another pistol? I know I've seen a few posts over the years from others that carry.
I've been considering a Khar.
Oh and no Glocks k thx.
Hate Glocks.
Sigs are ok.
Barrettta's are clunky.
My favorite has always been S&W's.
Have you considered a walther? I seem to recall they have good subcompact models.
Anything too small in automatic and the action chews up your hand when you fire. Is auto the only option?

Springfield has some good sub compacts in their XP line.

Not trying to be mean, but I mean wouldn't it be better to lose weight than buy a new gun?
edit: unless the weight is just your excuse to be able to buy a new gun.. then ya know whatever.. new guns are always fun

If by Sigs are ok you mean they ROCK THE SOCKS you're right.
Barretta and Ruger are out as I can't stand them.
Other than the new 220compact I have to rent I'll consider Khar, Colt, S&W, and HK. Auto preferred. No .380 or 9mm. .357 .40 or .45 only.
I've got a got a .357 hammerless s&w snubby that I received as a gift... but I don't like it. (sorry s&w man)

Ruger P95 DC
Beretta 92
Never tried Khar but I know people who have both of those, but you don't like either. I always like Beretta heavy but comfortable.

No mean taken.
It's just not feasible right now. I've been losing the weight but it's not an overnight thing.
The options would be
1) Don't carry until I lost 60lbs.
2) Don't carry on my strong side hip which is dumb.
3) Get a smaller gun that doesn't stab me in my beer belly everytime I sit down.
I don't wear jackets so shoulder holster doesn't work to well in Florida.
For now I'm voting for 3! No more stabbing my belly AND I get a new pistol.
I refurbish rifles as a hobby .. buy low sell high but I'm always open for a new pistole. They're more fun at the range.

Sig is heavy too but the only beretta I've like was the 92. I'll check out their compacts completely forgot to do so.
Ruger feels like fire plastic clunky junk. Absolutely out of the question I'd buy a glock first.

You and your springfield fetish is starting to scare me.
Just looked up the XP .45 and doesn't look to bad at all. Still might be too big for what I'm looking for right now.
I need slim and short. Weight doesn't matter.

What's wrong with Glocks?
I haven't had an issue with any I've fired. They also have some decent small sized models.

It's kind of like riding a mo-ped after riding a Harley.
They feel and shoot like toys. They're cheap for a reason.
*just personal preference I guess.

Did you look at the subcompact models? My .40 cal is as big as my palm.
Check this one out. I actually drooled. I think I might go see if I can test the .357 model.

SW99 has worked well for me. I know it is basically the same dimensions as the 229 but the edges are a lot smoother and it has an internal hammer mechanism. SIGs are sweet, but they have a lot of DNA collection points comparatively to the SW99, might find it to wear better without too much sacrifice.
It's so wierd hearing talk about going out to buy a gun to carry around.
I'm missing out.

The miniscule pp bits paired with paranoid personality disorder isn't really much to miss out on.
I mean fuck it: I want the motherfucking Chronoscepter from Turok if I'm ever a slave to this gun shit + Americana.
