Those leopards near Wyneb have got me too. Almost got me killed. One came down the trapdoor with me, pounced me, got knocked over (no stun, just rt) and the supp followed up with a flamberge mstrike.

I know that too much realism is ridiculous in a game, but c'mon, it's a cat. It'll pounce anything at any level. It's only 10 points of damage anyway. My cat is capable of worse and she's just a housecat. ;)

Some things are kind of cheap. Like running through OTF and a scout ambushing and killing you faster than anyone could even push a macro. However, without those cheap shots many would be undestructable.

IF you were to make it fair, figure you kill atleast 20 creatures in a hunt.... so the creature should be able to kill you or other players atleast 20 times before you are able to kill them.

It is still a bitch but imagine some of those creatures that we as players use CM's against. Our torture Vrs. their cheap shots = we win.

That might make sense if "heroes" (ie., PCs in GemStone) were supposed to be only as good as the monsters they kill.

This is akin to a kraw dweller killing a player 3x its age with its manuever roll... or a roa'ter burrowing on a capped player and killing it. And lets not forget about Minotaur Warriors and their manuever.

For the most part, it keeps folks on their toes and makes the game interesting. Especially for the higher level players who tend to walk around with a false sense of invincibility.

What is with people thinking padding reduces knockdowns and/or somehow prevents you from getting hurt by maneuvers?

If you had injuries and/or were encumbered, that could be your reason right there.

I was tackled to death by a pug once. It jumped up all frollicky and whatnot, and facebutted me in the nuts. This is why I no longer wear flimsy athletic shorts outside anymore. True story.

I imagine certain attacks have a margain of success that happens regardless of your levels, training, or equipment.
