View Full Version : Droopy Drawahs law leads to arrest.
WELLINGTON, Fla. -- Five family members, who got involved in the arrest process of a relative because of his droopy jeans, spent New Year's Eve behind bars, according to police.
Deputies said Florida State University student Franz Leger was banned from a mall last summer for wearing saggy jeans. But when Leger returned Monday, police arrested him for trespassing.
When the student's family heard what was happening, Leger's father, mother, sister and two cousins got involved. All were handcuffed and taken to jail.
Police said they did everything by the book, but the Leger family claims they were treated unfairly.
They said they plan to meet with a lawyer.
In the meantime, the entire family faces charges of trespassing, dissorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The guy was kicked off and banned from "private" property. He chose to come back ... open and shut IMO.

Good. Fucking idiots showing off their underwear deserve to be persecuted for their idiocy.
Or not, who really gives a shit. If people want to look like idiots and self select out of certain things (white collar jobs for instance), let them. If it's their off time, who cares.
Why does it have to be white collar jobs. Why cant it be black collar jobs?

Dallas had an ad campaign (http://www.dukenews.duke.edu/2007/11/saggin.html) to stop sagging pants until the radical homosexual lobby somehow decided it was an attack on them. I don't ever remember seeing a homosexual wearing sagging pants.

The "victim" turned it into a racial issue.

Supposedly it's an "indicator" used in prisons that carries into the real world.
IE saggy pants indicates prison bitches.

Maybe it's just me ... but I don't see any room for a person with the name of Franz Leger to make it a race issue.

I thought the whole saggy pants thing started in the prisons because prisoners aren't allowed to have belts, so they don't hang themselves. Never heard it had anything to do with being gay. It's a trend among people who want everyone to think they're criminals, even when they're not criminals. Why anyone would -want- to present himself like that is beyond me. They got the tall trees covering your ass now, but that makes it look just ridiculous - like the guy has no thighs - just calves, knees, and a torso. And if you're lucky you won't have to see the guy's naked nasty butt-cheeks which may or may not have recently been bathed.
We wore all kinds of weird shit when I was growning up and in a crowd that wanted to be "different" or rebel against society, but intentionally trying to look like a street-thug was never one of the fashion statements we cared to make. Perhaps that's why our clothes never caused us to get kicked out of shopping malls. Oh well, sucks to be him and his family, and good riddance. Maybe now the moron will invest in a belt and pull his pants up like a civilized human being.

Because white men can't jump, and black men can't climb the corporate ladder.

A few months back we had a guy in Cincinnati walking around downtown handing out belts to anyone with saggy pants. The belts were all donated by local companies and shit. It was pretty funny.

These saggy-pants laws (there is at least one on the books in ATL banning saggy pants) are well on their way to being found unconstitutional by SCOTUS. SCOTUS has said many times that one cannot be guilty of a "status crime", IE, you can't arrest someone for hanging out on a known gang corner without them doing something else to warrant it, and you can't arrest people for having baggy pants unless they're specifically violating some public nudity law.
But this was a private facility, they have the right to do whatever they want, blah blah blah.

How does loitering compare with a status crime?

Here's a question.
How come a mall can't ban protesters from their mall( only article I could find now (http://www.insidebayarea.com/oaklandtribune/localnews/ci_7800092)) but they can ban a guy based on his clothes?

The answer to your question would be California. It will vary depending upon the state.

No such thing as saggy britches in State Prisons in Texas. Thats a security risk and is usually squashed the moment someone is able to procure a set of pants larger than what they should be wearing.

I didn't make that shit up. Texas prisons would be no different from any other. They're not "sagging or droopy". They'd just where them down their ass a little bit to show they were "available". Size has nothing to do with it.
Besides we all know Texas if full of either steers or queers.

TDCJ prison clothes have elastic banded waists in the pants. Perhaps there was a subtle message regarding wearing the pants down on the ass, but in my almost 7 years working in a unit (managing a dept. etc.) I never heard about it. Usually the 'girls' that were on each row, pod, dorm, were pretty flagrant about it. Not much subtle coding was needed and it definately wasnt a secret.
Sounds like you have been watching too many episodes of OZ.

Loitering is pretty damn controversial for that very reason, Gan. From what I can remember of Crim Law, it has to be very narrowly tailored to specifically target those who would be in violation of "public health and safety", public health being interpreted rather vaguely to allow cops to kick homeless guys off benches.

Lol. Good thing my bosses don't know I wear saggy jeans on my off time. I'd probably lose my nice white collar job. OMG :(
Wait...they do.. and it doesn't fucking matter.

I doubt you sag your pants with your belt around your lower thigh. I think a lot of people sag their shit a few inches below their waist so it sits on the shelf of their ass. I think most people would agree the obnoxious and obvious saggers are the ones who go below their ass bubble entirely.
