I would love to see them win but...

They have no reason to play. All the rest the stud talk is bad for the minds all week. They're not playing their studs. The only thing that matters to them is the playoffs.

While bellicheat's team has every reason to be motivated.. and they're playing their studs.

oh and eli and teh giants suck.

Man, I lost my fucking voice last night. Back in Buffalo, last night was crazy to be in a bar full of people decked out in Sabres/Bills gear, screaming for the Giants.

Shit, I fucking hate the Patriots.

Drew I'm just curious why you use retarded ass numbers every week?

This was addressed earlier but I'll give it a go again: since it's not closest to the number, it's closest to the number without going over I'm playing the odds. A lot of weeks the lowest number anyone but me picks is something like 31. That means that if the game scores anywhere between 2-30 points I win. That's a pretty decent range, considering you never know when it's going to be a defensive battle (a la pats-jets, fins-steelers, browns-bills etc.). Everyone else only has a 1 or 2 number spread for them to be correct. The lowest a modern NFL game could realistically finish at is 2, so that's what I pick. It's just like picking 1 dollar on the price is right.

Skeeter
12-30-2007, 09:56 PM
I didnt' realize it was closest w/o going over. Guess I should read the rules.

It doesn't mean shit for this contest anyways. It's not like there are weekly awards/payouts.

Went to the Texan's game today - expecting to see a route.

Instead I see back to back kickoff returns for TD's by the home town boys. W00000T, not to mention a win.

Isn't it nice to get a win against a team's second string?

A win is a win.

You learn to take what you can get some times.

PS. Resting 6 starters is hardly fielding a 2nd string squad. Its resting 6 starters. Unless you're saying that Jacksonville is only where it is because of those six.

Stunseed

David Garrard, Fred Taylor, Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashean Mathis, Brad Meester, Vince Manuwai, Daryl Smith, Tony Pashos, Dennis Northcutt and Paul Spicer were all held out. Henderson played a series?

So 1/2 the offense and starting MLB and a 7-sack specialist like Spicer. Oh, and a pro-bowl in Mathis.

I'm jus sayin.

Gan
12-30-2007, 11:02 PM
Better check your source. You're showing 11 out, and I'm finding only 8 in game recaps.

With the Jaguars' playoff position already secured, the team rested seven starters and a key reserve. Quinn Gray was at quarterback in place of David Garrard, and running back Fred Taylor, receiver Dennis Northcutt, offensive tackle Tony Pashos, defensive end Paul Spicer, linebacker Daryl Smith and cornerback Rashean Mathis were all inactive. Third-down back Maurice Jones- Drew also took a seat for the day.

Either way, strategy or not, and with a mediocre Texan team, I'm happy for the win and happy for a .500 season because of it.

Hopefully we'll see that next year if he stays. I think I heard somewhere that he's an unrestricted free agent, I'll have to check on that to verify.
