I was just wondering if this spell would allow you to walk in cold areas for an unlimited amount of time or just an extended amount of time without taking damage?

Extended. Between that and survival ranks you can last a long time in seekers (which has the worst snow burn IMO). Maybe 12-15 minutes without it before the first burn, 20 minutes with it and 15 seconds each additional survival rank.

Yeah I wanted to ask if it would protect a plate wearer a little more from the motes in OTF.

No. None. The spell has 0 effect on the Adept Mote Maneuver. I believe this has come up a time or two on the ranger boards, with Mestys chiming in.

It should, probably, but it was never programmed in.

602 aides with nature based injuries. In GS that is cold and fire. I heard a rumor once that it will aide some against things like spike thorn, tangle weed, and other ranger type attacks that are nature based.

I've never been damaged by weather effects in icemule with 602 on.

Where have you been hunting? You either are hunting for short amounts of time (IE: to fry, not cash hunting) or are hunting an area without ice burn.

I hunt both Sleepy Lady Mountains, and up on Aentumgana(sp?) with seekers/tigers/etc. Depending on what bounty I have, I often spend extended periods of time out there, especially on gem tasks.

How many survival ranks do you have? Is your character half-krolvin? Otherwise, what you are describing is essentially impossible.

My HK with 1X SUR and 602 lasted all of 25 to 30 minutes before getting thumped by weather. So I definitely agree with Drew.

I've never been burned with 602 on either... and that includes cash hunting the glacier when it was rich.

And they have no survival training.
