Did any of you guys watch this crap?

I'm a fan of the Sci-Fi's Ghosthunters, so I watched the first episodes of Paranormal State, hoping that it would be some of the same action.

Big fail.

This show is ridiculous. The 'demon' following the host around.. the stupid "DIRECTOR'S LOG..." interruptions... the blatant scripted interactions... resorting to bible-thumping rather than actual research to prove/disprove a haunting.. everything about this show was a big pile of suck.

I'll stick with Ghosthunters, even with their wasting 20 minutes of an episode to show them setting up their equipment.

The wife is big into that crap. John Edwards, Ghosthunters, and all of the same ... drive me nuts.

I saw the previews and knew that I'd be nagged into sitting down and watching it. It sucked, it's going to suck, it won't stop sucking.

Essentially it's a family of backwoods goobers freshly introduced to in door plumbing. I think their whole life was centered around a semi literate preacher giving his rendition of the bible with all the nasty evil shit he could throw in ... resulting in "an upside down cross? What's that all about ... its always been rightside up!"

Gee lady ... maybe a cameraman turned it .... or maybe you hung it in a manner that resulting in it being top heavy ... and gravity took over!

Also ... great way to fuck up your kids people ... the demon wants your child!

Ghosthunters by far ftw.

Other than the equipment bullshit and constant explanations for new viewers they've got their shit together on all fronts.

How can you like one and not the other? The "acting" in that ghosthunters show is so pathetic.

I think the theme for the show is "We have proof of ghosts (if your IQ is below 30)."

Mainly because the Ghosthunters crew goes in with the mindset that any 'haunting' can be disproven via logic.

I'm curious for a cited example of 'acting' on Ghosthunters. From what I've seen, they act like jackasses sometimes in pranking one another, but I've yet to see an incident where they actually played up an event to make it seem more paranormal.

The only examples I can think of would be the crew's reaction when something strange does happen. Sure, some of them go crazy with the "DUDE, RUN!!!" thing, but I hardly consider that acting. These are individuals who probably do hold an honest belief in the paranormal, and are legitimately freaked out when something out of the ordinary happens while filming.

I don't watch it enough to cite an example. It's just that every time I've watched the show there is some ridiculous play acting. Like...every single time they see a ghost, it's something completely unprovable. "I feel cold" or "I sense a presence" or "did you hear that, THE FLOOR CREAKED!" or "whoa, look, shadows!".

I've never seen them at all interested in disproving anything. I think I saw parts of one recently where they were at a prison, or maybe it was a house in philadelphia or something. I can never stay tuned in for long, though.

In Peamworld, observation does not equate to bad acting.

Ok, I don't like these types of shows ... but I can defend Ghosthunters.

These are guys that go in and attempt investigate in a scientific manner. Where other people may look at the results and findings and say "omg omg ... ghosts!1111onEoNe! ... These guys look at footage and say ... "that's dust", "that's the sound of the plumbing shifting" ... so on and so forth. It's only when they find something that is completely out of their ability to explain that they allude to the possibility.

Also, if you look at the people they take cases for. Most appear to be of sound mind. Logical, intelligent people. A&E dove straight to the bottom of the barrel and chose candidates that you'd likely see on the evening news after a tornado hit.

What Tsa'Ah said.

They debunk 99.9% of the sites and shit that these people claim via logic and science.

I usually get a kick out of shows like this. Most Haunted is always entertaining at 1am. Paranormal State was a huge disappointment after all the hype on A&E. Never say the demons name but please flash it on the screen numerous times. I hope the demon wins. Tee heee

Yea, Ghosthunters will just be like, "So after watching the house, we have decided you are just fucking crazy." Half the time I watch the shit they are explaining to the home owner or who ever that the house makes the sounds due to scientific reasons.

I tend to miss the show because I can never remember wtf channel Sci-Fi is... And I agree, the A&E show is bad. Better demons in Intervention than this show...

Dude, did you see the episode with the 'dark man.'

When that acne-riddled pagan loser started chanting that shit on the lake, I fucking lost it.
