If a warrior trains in MIU would they get the same modifiers as a wizard, or would a warrior of to train more in it to use the same magic item? Like a rod imbedded with Elemental Deflection. Thanks.

Think it would be the same.

If its different, it would only be a bonus for a character using his own professions spell circles.

I was thinking it would be the same, but i wanted to make sure. Thanks.

I have 65 ranks of MIU if you want to test something.

Warriors get the same bonus per rank of MIU: this does not mean that a generic warrior requires the same amount of MIU ranks to activate a particular spell as a generic wizard. They ought to be the same for things like MjS or Cleric, but they would be different for MnS or MjE.

MIU training is only one of a number of variables that are taken into consideration when activating the spell off a magical item. The spell in question also plays a part, as does encumberance and a bunch of other things. For example, a warrior with ZERO MIU still has a decent chance of using an oaken wand, because since the spell is off the circles available to a warrior, said warrior gets a bonus to activation.

What would a warrior need 65 MIU for? Tanking up in spellburst areas?

That and duration.

Heh.

I forgot about duration. It takes me such a short time to fry that I haven't had to worry about melting.

Long durations don't really have much to do with how long it takes to fry. If you're hunting over really long periods of time, long durations will make you churn through your scrolls and magic items a lot slower than if your durations are supershort.

Mainly preparing for Nelemar temple and spellburst, I have 65 in MIU and Arcane Symbols. The nice bonus is 1 cast of Heroism off a scroll lasts about 52 minutes.

At least, that's what I assumed when I came back to GSIV and my warrior couldn't get Oaken wands to work any more.

That's what I recall as well. I specifically trained 4 ranks in MIU for my rogue so he could use items imbedded with disarm.

or high end items that require idiotic ammounts of skills
