Heya .. thought I'd come here for a little help on getting a gift for my nephew...

He's 15 .. and totally into the Mountain Bike thing -- he and his buddies all go to this dirt track they made and do the crazy jumping and stuff.

So .. my question is, is there something cool I could get someone who is into this sort of thing? Not too horribly expensive - but I need something to put in the package along with the handlebar streamers I already got him ;-)

Buy a bike helmet thats all black, and glue cheap spikes on the top.

A pair of black leather padded fingerless biking gloves with velcro closures on the back of the wrist.

They look very kewl, are not dweebish, and will protect him if he falls and tries to break his fall with the palm of his hand. If you think back to when you were a kid, I'm sure you'll remember raw meat sticking out of your hand on occasion.

I wear these gloves when I'm on my bike and in the winter when I'm driving my truck. You can get them at any cycle shop, usually under 15 dollars a pair.

Don't get the gel-filled ones though - they get icky and hard after awhile.

Is he into mountain biking or BMXing?

If he's jumping around on giant piles of dirt, I'd say it's BMX gear you're looking for.

You could also check into what the cult fav is for magazine subscriptions, or see if there's a local show to take him to, where they have some pros.

Yeah ... my bad on the nomenclature. It's definately BMX. I do like the biking gloves idea. I'll also do some poking around to see what the latest fad is in the mag scene. Thanks!

And I'm sure he's going to be hottest thing on two wheels with his pink and white handlebar streamers!
