View Full Version : Don't you just hate it when......

I really and truly adore my man because of all the little things he does. Including going to Kroger and taking care of my 1am lobster craving.

But I really hate it when we're going to sleep and I'll just doze off and catch a hand in my eye! (no not a fist cause he's already sleeping and he doesn't hit women) Not to mention he ends up with ALL of the covers, is this just a way of them saying "snuggle me" without actually using the words?

I'm a blanket-stealer too. It just sorta happens, I can't help it... and it's not intentional. We ended up having to get more than one blanket so we each could have one.

I don't know what you all are talking about. But even when i'm sleeping ALONE I usually wake up cold and without a blanket. It's the weirdest thing.

Tuck in your half of the sheet when you first go to bed... that way he can't roll it over in his sleep.

I thought that was for the snoring. Dangit my handbook was wrong!

But there are two blankets, somehow he ends up with both and the sheet is kicked onto the floor.

I have a no fail method of keeping my blankets! I lay on my side and grab the corner of the blanket or sheet hold it tight and sleep with my tight little fist full of blankets under my chin....voila...no problem!

This is a cute topic, but it's for off topic, so I'm moving it. The Relationship folder is for GS relationships. Heh.

Although I hate it when the mattress sheet snaps off and starts creeping down. I'm strange and I don't like the feel of a bare mattress. And I don't know what he does, maybe all the tossing and turning, but his corner comes off and eventually mine does too and then I struggle on the sheet to make sure I stay on it. I can't stand it.

i cant sleep on anything bare mattress, desk, rocks, dirt, cot, whatever ... but i will not stand for blanket theft! that is a crime punishable in unspeakable(or typeable) ways!

This is why I have 4 blankets on my bed. I like to sleep in a cocoon. Not that I've had anyone sleep in my bed recently, but it's good to have for emergencies.

My husband and I have no problem sharing blankets, 'cause we always sleep spooning.

What I can't do is have my feet and hands under the blanket, I get all claustraphobic if my feet and hands can't "breathe." I can't sleep with socks on for the same reason.

Heh I thought I was the only one who couldnt stand to have socks on or my feet covered cause I feel closed in! I dont feel quite so weird now!!

Incidentally the blankets.. or at least the top one.. always ends up on the floor at the foot of the bed, so I am not really sure which one of us is to blame. :)

It's a great problem to have. You're all depressing me.

Before I start, YES WE ALL KNOW I HAVEN'T SLEPT WITH ANYONE...

But I can't sleep with socks on either. It's a heat thing. I feel like if my feet are the right temperature, the rest of me is. If they're hot, I'm miserable. If they're cold, well.. then I just pull them under the covers and I'm fine. I hate socks in general. I'm usually bare foot while I'm at home and I wear sandals until it gets too cold. Which in Texas is like December 20th.

I can't sleep with sheets either. I don't like them and they get tangled and they're a pain in the butt. i just sleep with a comforter. When I'm sick I have weird dreams and end up stripping my bed and throwing everything on the floor. It's happend more than once. I'm strange.

Also, I post too much that no one cares about.

We have like six big fluffy pillows on our bed. No such thing as too many pillows!

Looks like there's more feet-breathers than originally thought.

I agree with the sheet thing, topsheets just end up bunched at the foot of the bed and they make making the bed in the morning so much more of a pain.

Call me a freak but when I saw the image, I checked to see the file name and did a google search and managed to trace it back to its origin.

The guy is pretty talented with 3D imagery.

To get back on topic...

When I sleep in a smaller bed, I tuck my blanket under my feet so that its wrapped on both sides and its all fine and good in the morning. However if I sleep on a king sized bed, I usually wake up upside down with the blanket and pillows all over the place. I don't get it but I think it may be because the fear of falling off keeps me in one spot.

I always have a fan on. I get sick if the heater is too high in the winter. Something about artificial heat or something bothers my sinuses. In the summer I just wake up 229039823 times if it's too hot because I can't stand heat when I'm sleeping.

If I'm sleeping with someone, I'm usually on top of the blankets. I'm thermo-nuclear. Add another body and it's meltdown for me.

I had to learn to sleep in clothes working weekend shift (40 straight hours) as a paramedic. It really bothered me at first but I got use to it. Since I've retired from that profession, I still sleep in my socks. I can't stand to walk across a non-carpeted floor in my barefeet this time of year.

Sleeping with my feet under the covers usually annoys me, too... unless it's really cold out. I usually sleep on my stomach or side, so I poke my legs out from under the covers. As for blankets... I have a down comforter and a fleece blanket. The fleece usually ends up on the floor, along with my sheet. Pillows... I have four on my bed here at school, and four on my bed at home. I can't sleep with only one.

Down comforter, no top sheet. Feet are the temerature controller for the whole body! It's hot! <stick them out> it's cold <pull them in>
And tucked in blankets freak me out. I feel like I"m going to be buried alive. If I go to a hotel I untuck them alllll the way around first thing.
Oh yes.. 6 pillows good. Plus a body pillow.

I'm the exact same way. Its bad, my feet get so cold (from not being under the covers) that when I get into the shower the hot water feels like it's burning my feet.

I have a little bit of all of these.

I can't sleep with socks on. I love to feel the top sheet against my feet.

I can spoon for approximately three and a half minutes. Anything longer than that and I lose about five pounds through my pores.

I sleep with a comforter folded half way down. If I get cold at night I'll pull it up. Which doesn't happen much; I was working in shorts today. And I have to have a fan on at all times.

I sleep slanted across the bed, because my feet hang over the edge of all but king size mattresses.

At last count I have nine pillows. I only use one under my head; I've had it for seven years now. The rest just fall where they may.

You guys keep letting your feet stick out and someone's going to walk by and chop them off.

/keeps feet covered because of lingering childhood fear.

::cackles:: I'm the same way, with my feet and my hands. I never let my arms or legs dangle off the side of the bed for fear of something/someone reaching up from under my bed and grabbing or slicing. Thanks Peam for rekindling that fear!

I always get confused, because I remember growing up with a sheet, a blanket, and a quilt. Now everyone switched "quilt" to "comforter" and I have NO IDEA what's going on. But I digress.

No blanket for me, too itchy. Always have to have a window open, too. Sheet+quilt+window = sleepytime goodness. Great thing about college is they got us all extra-large mattresses so I can finally stretch out all the way without my ankles being sore in the morning from having my feet hang off the bed I HATE THAT!

The one thing I need to change is my pillow. I'm thinking about getting one of them space-agey type things because this one has serious flatness problems. When I start to get a fever, I always kick the sheet down to the bottom in my sleep. That (and the frighteningly lucid dreams) let me know I should start taking vitamins again.

I never even KNEW there was one of them mattress pad things until I went to college. It sure is annoying when it pops off, except for the first time, because then it's scary. I've always had a fear of one of the springs in the mattress breaking through the top and stabbing me, so that wasn't very fun. Boy is this ever a topic I can sink my teeth into.

Damn he stole the covers again BOTH of them! Next time I'm just gonna give him a good shove right off the bed.

Even if it's 40 below zero, I always sleep with one of my feet sticking out from under the covers. I'm odd like that.

I tend to be a snuggly sleeper, though, so if people steal blankets, that's fine. I get my revenge by putting my icy hands on their nice, toasty warm parts to warm up.

That's hanging off the bed, not uncovered.

I used to imagine a guy with a chainsaw under my bed waiting for my limbs to hang off the mattress.

:::wanders over to the corner of the room with the others who share her irrational fear of exposed limbs:::

I *always* wear socks to bed. I always wear socks, period. Except in the shower, cause that would be gross..but...yeah..socks all the time for me. It has something to do with my odd hatred of feet.

I love to be under the covers and comforter, too. My husband a lot of the time doesn't like the covers....but I like to snuggle (hey he's warm!) so he has to go under the blankets.

I'm also a bed space thief. I really feel badly about it, but it's out of my control :( I'll be spread out all over the place, and my poor husband is huddled in one little corner of the bed...and like more than half the bed is empty..haha.
