I just got a new motherboard and this is what it says in the manual:
This mainboard accommodates two 184-pin 2.5v unbuffered Double Data Rate SDRAM (DDR SDRAM) Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) Sockets, and supports upto 2.0 GB of 333 MHz DDR SDRAM.
So basically I realize that I now need to get 184 pin. (Of course I have 416 in 164 pin) I am just curious if anyone has suggestions on what type I should get.
They have PC2700 DDR 1 GB 184 pin for $105. My question is...Is this good stuff? Whats the difference compared to the others?
I now have a P4 2.66 GHz. Let me know what you guys think.

I could tell you, but I don't want to.
PC2700 1 gb is fine.

Just a quick note, make sure they don't need to be paired. A friend of mine is upgrading her RAM and she has RDRAM, needs to be paired up (she has 2 128mb chips, she would need to: a)add 2 more 128mb chips, or b)remove the chips that are in there, and insert 2 (or 4) 256mb chips.

It doesn't appear that way. At least not in the instructions.

I didn't know P4 came in 500mhz. Nothing wrong with old pentiums. I have a P1 200 mhz that I am going to do a little work on and probaly give it away. My theory is...Only buy what you need because it will get out dated really quick. And I totally believe in refurbished...Keeps it cheap and you can easily update.

Oh and by the way...The one I am still currently using is a Celeron 600 with 416 mb of ram 40 gb hard drive (on board sound/video/lan). And yah know it runs to the common eye just as good as a P4. And I would say something about the Athlon chip, but the new 64 bit chip.
