View Full Version : Old Game That Still Pwn

It's probably happened to you at some point - You're thinking about an old game you have fond memories of for whatever reason, getting all nostalgic and stuff.

Then you break out your NES or Atari 2600 or emulator or whatever, pop the game in, and realize that it blows, and that you should have left your good memories of the game alone.

But now and then though you'll throw in one of those old games, and it still rocks.

So list your old games that still pwn here. I'll start out easy: Bionic Commando on NES.

I still love to play Donkey Kong on Super Nintendo.. also Contra on NES still pwns.

I tried playing some of my old Ninja Turtle games and they're not as entertaining. I still can't stand any pre N64 Zelda either. I do however, love Mario 64 as much as I did when it was released.

Awesome game too!

Link to the past is badass too...

Secret of Evermore was such a sweet game... too bad it had a ton of bugs; of course I probably never would have noticed them if I didn't play through that game so much.

FF1 always holds its place in my heart due to the fact I was a kid and saved up the 40 dollars to actually buy it...
I remember actually playing super mario bros in the arcade =/ as well as 'mario bros'

DS is getting Tactics Advance 2, the sequal to the GBA Tactics game which has nothing to do with the original as far as i'm concerned, it also sucked :(

Wow...surprised to see the Vay mention. Thought I was the only person in north america with that game. Tracked it down after i was lucky enough to find Lunar: The Silver Star and Lunar: Eternal Blue on sega CD.

I also own Popful Mail, which isn't nearly as good but still had to get it out of respect for WD.

I think i lost the pic, but i had a snapshot someplace of all my working designs items. All their original Sega CD games (excluding the tank one), the Lunar remakes on playstation (including the limited edition Ghaelon puppet that came with it)

I spent many a day playing hardball

I used to play the shit out of that game on Genesis.

Some other epics:

Dragon Warrior I & II (NES). Didn't play 3 or 4 but VIII on PS2 is pretty nice.

Ecco the Dolphin (Sega CD with the improved music and stuff)

Street Fighter II / CE / Turbo / etc.

Mortal Kombat 1-3

Snatcher (Sega CD)

Warlords (Atari 2600)

Doom

Star Control II (3DO, one of my top games ever)

There was some driving game on Sega CD. I forgot the name, but it was basically like Dragon's Lair but in a driving setting. Same cel-shaded type graphics and stuff, but I can't remember the name for shit. Anyone?

Oh and...

TWISTED: The Game Show (3DO)

EDIT: This reminds me, I need help.

I got a 3DO emulator a while back and am trying to download Twisted from this site http://www.edgeemu.com/info/3do/29.html which you have to be registered for the site. Problem is after I registered, I never received a validation email. I tried this with 2 or 3 separate email addresses and never got the validation for any of them. Anyone feel like trying to sign up, and if you get validated, give me the login info?

Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra FTW!

after i quit WoW i filled my time up for a while by playing through every single mega man game up through x3

And, as much as I am a nostalgia freak, i have to say my favorite Castlevania game was Symphony of the Night on Playstation. Great, great game.
