No solid buyers yet so I've still got this:
1. A perfect invar dwarven-forged main-gauche
- The matte black finish of the blade is dull, ensuring the user will not be given away by any stray reflections from an otherwise shiny surface. The cross guard has been forged into an eight pointed star both beautiful and efficient in design creating many angles for the user to parry and ensnare an opponents weapon as well as paying homage to the Huntress. Engraved on a flawless eight-pointed star emerald embedded in the hilt are the words, "Never forget. Never forgive."

- Perfect forging
- Blessable with Holy flares (Lightning or Unbalance)
-When you bless it can have either spell cast at the weapon and the weapon will retain those flares until the bless wears off

Good question on which spell activates the lightning. Wonder if 901, 910, 518, and 125 all work, and if so, if they work the same way.

i think any lightning spell works honestly, but i'm not sure. so 901, 910, 125 would all have the same effect. I'm actually pleasantly surprised 125 works.

I'm kind of curious why you're only posting a subsection of the flares and informing us "38/130" ... if you have 38 flares out of 130 and then you cherry pick 7 flares to show off, that information is statistically useless... If you provide all 38 that information is quite useful (infact I would say it's also fair for you to remove the non-flaring hits that resulted in kills... as they were neither flare nor non-flares... as they never got a chance to flare. So it may be 38/105 or something even better than what you were saying)
Not meaning to sound like a jerk but... same goes with the knockdowns, you say it knocks critters down about half the time, and then only show examples where it knocks critters down. I just think a better representation is more... honest? Same goes here where critters may already be down when it flares, and it never got a chance to knock them down.

He's saying 38 or whatever out of whatever many swings to show that there is no difference in the effect of the flares from the different spells of lightning, that is my interpretation of it anyway... they're just normal lightning flares.

Seems like it would be kinda a lot to post all 38 flares as it would be quite a long post. If people would like to see that I can start logging my tests and sending them out via email. I tried to pick a good cross-section of flares representing what, anecdotally, appears to be average not just the best.
If people want more information, and are seriously considering purchasing, please contact me (either pm or justarius_lightbringer@yahoo.com) and I'll get them to you. Also any suggestions as to critters people would like to see tests on would be welcome as well.
As far as the honest comment...I seriously resent my integrity being questioned. If you have suggestions or requests for data sets I am more than willing to accommodate to the best of my abilities but making innuendoes about my honesty or lack there of is not an effective way to have your requests honored. I'm not sure if that was the intent behind the post but hopefully it is behind us.

Try the [ code ] tag... it's really good for inserting a lot of data that a handful of people would be interested in.

This is why I hesitated to say honest, I wasn't calling you dishonest, especially not intentionally (as I have no idea what your intention was), but really if I were to say "Selling a weapon that flares 3/10 times" then show three flares of 70 point crit kills (that I gathered over say 1000 swings), the data would be painting a dishonest picture, even if the data itself is not dishonest.
There is actually a really good calvin and hobbes about this... where calvin says people always believe pictures... and has hobbes take a picture of him sitting on a corner of his bed he cleared off, cropping out the mess around him, to make people actually think he kept his room clean. It's deception by omission (which I don't think was your intent).
Anyway as thefarmer said, it was just a suggestion, I tend to pop in to a lot of sales threads and "crap" on them, usually I'm not intending to be a jerk, but if you perceive it that way well... I don't care, I feel better at the end of the day knowing I brought some information about that might have gone overlooked. :hug2:

Don't really feel like bothering with 901 since 910, 518 and 125 all seemed to work about the same.
Next I will be checking out if cleric blesses have any difference. I think I have noticed it flares more often if the cleric that blesses can give flares to the weapon but unsubstantiated as of yet. I'll get this done tomorrow.
Looking for 30-40 mil for the set in trades, 35 mil in silver. Would prefer to sell as a set. Interested in brig, double leather, PPs, runestaves, longswords, plate class armors, flaring shields, brawlers, enhancives and nifty/unique items.

No solid buyers yet so I've still got this:
1. A perfect invar dwarven-forged main-gauche
- The matte black finish of the blade is dull, ensuring the user will not be given away by any stray reflections from an otherwise shiny surface. I've seen a other weapons with similar stats going for 45-55 mil vs my 25. Better weapon bases I'm sure but is a main-gauche really that worthless?
With sunfist you can get a heavily damage weighted, flaring, blessable main-gauche that knocks down about half of the flares. More of a vehicle for the flares/weighting while providing a little defensive bonus.
I guess the perfect forging is negligible on such a low DF weapon (flat 4% increase to DF vs. plate [a perfect falchion has a 10.5% increase]) other than to make up for the enchantment gap (invar so 7x = 32 + 3 avd = full 7x)
Please feel free to debate the merits of the price but try to keep it civil.

I think the most obvious indicator that the price is too high is the fact that it hasn't sold since December 5th. It may simply be that I'm out of touch with the weapon-swinging community but I don't think people really went crazy for coco-puffs over Ironwright's flares.
A 7x weapon would normally go for something like 8 million. Flares might add on a little bit unless potential buyers aren't enthralled with the idea of needing to bless the weapon before getting their flares back.
I've never actually heard of anyone choosing a main-gauche as a primary hand weapon and I don't think there are very many two-weapon users that will dump 25 million for an off-hand weapon. In that price range, you're essentially competing against Shadowdeath daggers, poison ambushers while some normal 7x dagger might come at a third of the price.
I actually like the weapon but for the reasons Kitsun mentions and the fact that I would almost certainly take a loss on re-sale, I also wont bid, unbalance flares are *neat* if I pay 25 mil for something I want noticable mechanical advantage.

I sold my 7x perfect invar main gauche with switchable ice/acid flares for 9 million, and honestly I do not see how this one is twice as good. And I'm probably about the only person who'd even look at buying a gauche these days anyway, because my PC is weird like that.
