I've been accused of being a neat freak, because I can't stand clutter, and I do a lot of picking up after my roommates.
I was starting to think I was abnormal or something until I encountered a friend from GS, who admits she enjoys scrubbing walls. The same friend also scrubs everything with a toothbrush, and cleans her bathroom several times a day. If being a neat freak is a disorder, then she has it worse than I do.
I don't see this as a bad thing. I'm just curious what other people think about it, and how many other neat freaks there are out there.
Are you a neat freak, or do you know one? And how do you feel about people that clean constantly?

One of my roomate's is a neat freak. Our apartment is SPOTLESS most of the time. But if someone doesn't clean the kitchen at least once a week, and I mean really clean, not just regular upkeep, because we do that, he'll call a cleaning service which will charge us 60 dollars for a 10 minute visit(He's a very lazy neat freak). It's annoying, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a disorder.

Does Animal House mean anything to you? That's about how my place looks. It's a mess but it's organized. Clean but in a state of disarray.

That sounds like me. If it's at all possible to pay someone else to do something for me, I will.
Also, I hate slackers. That is all.

My friend is a neat freak, I drive her nuts because I tend to lay things down, paper etc. She says everything in it's place blah blah.
She has one quirk tho that drives me insane, she leaves doors open. Fridge door, drawers, cupboards. More then once I have either taken a hit to the hip or the head.

I live with seven 20-25 year old men in a massive house. How do you think it looks and smells?

Suprisingly not. We cleaned up last week after our house was crashed by five Americans.

Filthy Americans. And they're fat, too.
But we have good teeth.

By Freudian's definition, Camri's friend sounds anally retentive. I could go into this whole boring explanation of what that means and how it comes to be, but I'd bore myself before I finished it. So... just believe me.

My room isn't too bad, but I have clothes strewn everywhere. It takes about two days after I clean up for half my closet to be emptied in various places around my room. As for the apartment on a whole...I think we have a bowl of mac and cheese that's been there since August, there's shit growing on it. No one wants to touch it, and it's nex to the beer.

*** Yes i openly admit to scrubbing walls my hubby smokes and therefore i clean the walls .. and yes im weird.. i would rather have white walls then walls with smears on them from smoke not to mention the smell < gags> Also I do clean the bathroom 3 times a day with a toothbrush .. My oldest son has a VERY hard time " making it into the toilet " when he pees.. So yes i scrub it with bleach and a toothbrush to make sure i get EVERTHING up .. I also use a toothbrush in my kitchen around the baseboards.. If i am crazy then i dont think ill be coming back soon **

I throw my clothes all over the place. Thank god for Downy wrinkle releaser and irons.
Otherwise I'm reasonably neat. My stuff might look a little out of order, but at least I know where everything is when it's like that.

My aunt is a neat freak. She actually cleans our house when she visits...
I keep my things in order with geological principles...if I haven't seen what I wanted in a while, I look deeper into the pile. If it is something recent, it has to be near the top! I'm only like that was paper-like clutter. If it stinks or has the potential to rot, it ain't in my room.

Are neat freaks anal? I like things clean, but things do get messy sometimes here. I have to clean everyday here cuz the people I live with are slobs and don't know how to clean after themselves. So if I don't clean up, then this place would look like a trash heap.

Edaarin take the bowl outta the fridge and just toss it out the window before it gets too cold and people stop walking around.
I'm not neat at all.

I never noticed quite how messy I am until I went to college and got roomed with a neat(er) kid, it's awesome it's like there's a line going down the center of the room, his side has carpet, mine has everything else. Clothes, books, paper, shoes, random plastic bags (I should probably see what's in some of those) baseball paraphernalia and a few hats. But he cheats and uses shelves, so I'm not too bummed.
Don't worry about it unless you notice that you're bleeding because you're washing your hands so much. Then you have a problem.

I have a friend who cleans when people come over. I don't mean BEFORE, but also DURING. It is very hard to enjoy visiting a friend when they are in the kitchen scrubbing.
Me? Someone comes over, I move the laundry and books to another area so they can sit on the couch. I try to keep my house under control, but a lot of times I find my self playing with my daughter, going outside, doing things, or enjoying a good book.
One time my husband came home, and as tolerant as he is... he asked why the dishes still hadn't been done. So we went to go do them, on our way Kiara started trying to walk and so we stopped to encourage her. An hour later still nothing done and he finally understood why I don't get much done. Kiara is ALWAYS learning something new. LoL

I am not a neat freak at home, but I am in my office. There, everything must be in its place. At home, as long as I can get to the kitchen, the bathroom, the computer and the bedroom (trails are acceptable), I am a happy camper. :D
