Ok, I keep getting mixed views on this, so I figure where better to take it then here.

Wearing stockings with gowns. Do you really see the stockings? Are they something you should wear or not with gowns?

Depends on the gown, usually, (agreed), but short of the gowns having splits in them, is it something you should wear?

As much as I really really shouldn't be responding to this message... have you considered placing the stockings into the long description of the gown? Best of both worlds that way... you're technically wearing stockings, but you don't clutter up your look description with something someone wouldn't notice if they weren't taking a closer look.

I used to but typically not anymore, IG.

If I do wear stockings I make sure they are just generic "some black silk stockings" or whatever as opposed to thigh-highs.. my reasoning for that is that unless your dress is ridiculously short no one is going to know you're wearing thigh-high stockings.

I used to, sometimes. It depended on the length of my character's description without the stockings (I tried to never go over three lines) and how integral they seemed to the outfit. Most of the time though, it was without.
