It can be used once every 2 hours in two different ways, on two different timers
1) When you blow it everyone in the realm who is outside can hear it
2) The horn can be blown a different way, and it casts the spell similar to zealot. Everyone in your group who is following you will be affected, or just you if you are alone or following someone else. It raises your AS based on some formula of your physical abilities and age -- my 66 warrior gets something like 24 additional AS from it, and it caps out at 30 additional AS.
Only very physical classes can use it, warriors and rogues usually. FEW bards, FEW rangers, who are very physical and older, can use it.
It provides the AS for 5 minutes.
Also, it's worn on your belt, and if you were to die while wearing it, it will sound the horn in the entire realm signalling your death. This only sounds if you are capable of blowing the horn (if you were injured and had no arms, you wouldn't blow it, and it'd tell you that when you died).

Casts sleep at critters with no chance of failure (that I've seen)
It is based on the phases of the moon and cycles from I believe 4x - 7x, and as the enchant increases in time with the moon phase, so does the chance of it "flaring" sleep.

Switchable 1h/2h axe, similar to a bastard sword. Handaxe and battleaxe are the bases you'll want to look at for each mode.

It is a shame you really cannot hope to improve the weapon via any means. There are also some bugs associated with the weapon unless Tayvin finally convinced a GM to address them. Whoever buys it should pick up the fight to have them all fixed. It would add a lot to the weapon.

The bugs aren't exactly game destroying. Nor do they effect how it works to be honest. Mere typo's and little things like that.

What really frigged me off is how nearly every fucking class has a means of escaping the effects of disarm, or at least no losing their fucking weapon from it, EXCEPT one of the two classes who absolutely 100% have to rely on weapons to kill things. Dumb Dumb DUMB.

Most of them were. Some of them still are funky, but useable. If I recall correctly one colour didn't work at all, but that was an old old ability which wasn't very good.

What does the steel weaponry do? And what base is a coustille (to keep it on topic)?

The coustille is a shortsword. I'm not sure what steel weaponry you are referencing though.

Steel weaponry is like the new version of Sorrow. They are sentient weapons that you must bond with over time. As your level of bond grows, you gain new powers that can be activated via certain commands. I believe there is the Katana, the Katar, and the Short Sword. Atleast that was what was available to play with on the test instance. However, I think people said they are broke there.

If you ever seen the anime Bleach, they are basically a rip-off of the people's Zonpocto's just like the energy bow is a rip off of the Quincy's bows in that show. Someone had a real Bleach hard-on, but the weapons are still among the best in the game.

I'm sure Krakiipedia.org has entries on all of the above, but that's the short and sweet on them. They went out during the Auction of the Ebon Gate in Velathae.

The steel weapons aren't as powerful imo, but then Sorrow's main weakness, like most old school weapons, is that it can be disarmed, making it completely useless post level 70.

Actually, you can hunt Illoke up through 95 or so and never be disarmed. There are different risks there but at least you don't have to worry about losing your weapon (hence why I like it there).

I'm with you though, Sorrow is not the most powerful killing weapon in the game, but I think it's one of the most badass in terms of messaging, spells, and just flat out neatness.

That's why I'm not sure I want to sell it, coupled with the fact it's basically my last weapon of any worth and I'm bonded to it both as a weapon (the 180 days it takes to bond) and with cman bonding.

Frankly I don't hunt enough with Mo at all for it to make a difference either way, but I'm weird like that.

I have the steel katana and I can confirm that the new system seems to have nerfed them. I am fully bonded with it as a paladin but there is currently no bonus to my Str or Wis. The sentient being also has stopped talking to me while I am dead or stunned but seems to be acting properly in weapon enchant and flare. The creator is currently working on the problems.

The paladin bonding to the katana has been fixed. I learned that that was a bug in the new system for all paladin bonded weapons. Still can't assess or inspect it and I haven't died since posting so I don't know if she will talk to me or not and it's not worth the effort to go kill myself to find out...I'm sure that will happen on its own soon enough.

I require the pre-nerf version of Dartaghan's crystal ball.

Was basically a cross realm 116/225 item. Not the actual spells, but the end result was the same.

That and the Darkstone Key, which I'm pretty sure also got somehow nerfed. Crystal ball was nerfed from unlimited use to 2x per day. And I have no idea who has either. Probably some black hole that's been gone for years.

It was probably the locker staff. Combined with the crystal ball it makes it easy to get back to your main town without needing a player target, same as Darkstone Key. I used to own the locker staff in like 2003 I think, and it's one of the few items I regret selling. Ironically, I traded my lint bag and some coins for it, eventually sold it for a scroll combiner I think, which I ended up selling at some point, and then like 10 years later I got my lint bag back.

I really hate traveling in this game. :(
