There's a cheaper version of the chain that PF chang's owns and I think they do delivery. Damned if I remember what they're called, though.

Wow, didn't know PF Chang's owned Pei Wei. Our PF Chang's got their three strikes the first time we ate there. Pei Wei on the other hand advertised hot and spicy, delivered hot and spicy, and was decently cheap. Nothing I hate more then having to go home and add a cup of Srirachi to something to get some heat. Still, there's gotta be other, better oriental places then McChang's.

I have 2 local places that deliver... but their Dan Dan Noodles are McLame.
I don't want a whole dinner.. I JUST WANT THEM DAM DAN DANS DAMMIT!
Time to put on the apron.
Ingredients:
***Noodles***
1 teaspoon oil
1/4 ounce green onion, minced
1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon chile paste
4 ounces ground chicken, cooked
1/4 ounce egg noodles, cooked
Cornstarch
***Liquid Mixture***
2 ounces soy sauce
1 ounce cooking wine
1 teaspoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
7 ounces chicken stock
Heat wok or large skillet, add 1 tsp. oil and sear the chile paste, garlic and green onion for 5 seconds, using caution to avoid inhaling the direct fumes.
Add cooked ground chicken, tossing and stirring for 10 seconds. Add all the liquid ingredients and simmer for 20 seconds.
Add a "slurry," equal parts of cornstarch and water mixed together (a tsp. or two of each) to thicken the sauce. Consistency should be thick enough to stand on top of the noodles.
Pour sauce over a serving plate of hot cooked noodles. Garnish with bean sprouts and julienned cucumbers.

I thought PF Chang's was horrendously over rated.
I ate there this summer and it was very average. The appetiser lettuce things we ate were the only redeaming part of the meal.

PF Chang's is an American-Chinese restaurant that decided to bump up their ingredients from "suspect" to "solid" from other American-Chinese restaurants and offer the "Casual American Bistro" dining ambiance for an "up-scale" chinese experience.
As you can see -- 20-40 yr old white suburbanites love it.
Yea, I'm not big on dog/cat meat either...

They have a really good fried banana dessert, otherwise the food can be pretty bland.

That looks awesome (never had it myself), but...

Am I msising something here?
Oh, and if I could figure out how to do their lettuce wraps and Szechuan scallops, I'd never have to pay $30 to eat there again.

Seriously? Fucking awesome...
Never been to a PF Changs, had never heard of it either... I went into a place last week (Berlin Turnpike, near Dairy Queen) that I'd been to before and was surprised to see it was now an Italian/Chinese/Sportsbar combo restaurant. Higher class place, but you got two menus, a Chinese menu and an Italian menu... The sportsbar part was downplayed (at least in the dining section, I could only see two TVs), but they had a "General Tsao's Pizza" which was just awesome.

Don't get me wrong the place is good.. the mall is snobby tho. If I'm spending money that should be invested for retirement on a meal it's gotta have some MOOO MOOO in it.
I'm not a big eater tho so my opinion is biased.

Italian + Chinese = Marco Polo
This is actually a more common menu combination than you might think. I used to manage an Italian restaurant and our prep cook was an older Chinese man. He would often make appetizer specials such as crab rangoon (with REAL crab) or egg rolls that would go over really well.
I think P.F. Chang's capitalized on the fact that most Americans love Chinese food, but the vast majority of Chinese restaurants are crap. By using quality ingredients instead of the cheapest crap available, they offered a unique product and exploited the market.
I agree with a few other people that have noted that The Cheesecake Factory offers at least as good if not better Chinese(-American) food than P.F. Chang's. You just don't think of them because they have something else (cheesecake) to use as their gimmick.

:wtf:
Higher class as in it's like... a reasonable Italian restaurant setup (above Olive Garden, not just a pizza place... very clean, no goofy shit on the walls, etc), yet like behind a partition is a clear/cut sportsbar setup... and instead of just free bread... you get free bread (fucking amazing bread) and crunchy noodles, with duck sauce and olive oil.
It was very very weird. It was pretty new too (had to have been, I was there not two months prior and it was just chinese), so I'm guessing they'll combine the menus eventually so you dont' flip through two.

Was pretty good actually, and I usually dislike Italian quite a bit!
