I know little about HJ aside being able to pick a primary and secondary profession. and that at least by the screen shots its sweet. Full of all sorts of purdy colors. So what does everyone else think?

It's never coming out, just forget about it.

I have little doubt that they will launch the program, however I have equally little doubt that they will close it a month after wards and claim it a tax right off...

...Such is the nature of business.

Oh, how wonderful, I feel all warm and fuzzy... Though Business and Econ would argue with you.

My advice to you, Stay out of buisness, stick with games :)

They've already made money off the HJ engine, no reason why I don't see it coming out.

Off the engine yes.

It's my assumption they're eons behind now on HJ itself especially compared to the rest of the market.

But who knows. We're talking about simu.

My theory is that there is a certain threshold when reached HJ becomes obsolete in terms of graphics etc. so that there is no amount of money being made off the game. I theorize that the new 4th gen MMOs will destroy HJ's ability to garner any pbase short of the SIMU slaves who can't shake off their text based games, like me. But then I'm not much of a graphical person so that may even cave further. Bottom line, they got their money off their engine. If they were truly ambitious why would they be selling their engine rather then make their game that much more unique?

A lot of game companies sell the rights to game engines they develop in house, nothing new.

Before or after they finish making the first game?

Assuming HJ is going to be released, I'd guess it's because they needed money to fund the game's development, insteadf of selling out to a big name publisher and being their bitch, like Blizzard did with Vivendi.

The question is now, though, who will be the first to come out with a game using HeroEngine?
