Looks like this isn't the case. The enhancive effects of 650 are restricted by the same limitations as any other enhancive bonus.

That, IMO, is crap as that spell is already quite limited in usage. Allowing rangers to push past the theoretical max for a such a short time would give this spell a bit more usage.

"Aspect Benefits
Stats: When assuming an aspect with a stat benefit, the ranger receives a +20 increase to the applicable stat. Training in Spiritual Lore, Blessings (http://www.play.net/gs4/info/skills.asp#spirlore) provides an additional benefit of an additional +1 at 2 ranks to a maximum of an additional +12 at 90 ranks. The stat bonus increase is half that of the stat increase with a base stat bonus increase of +10 and an additional stat bonus increase of +6 with lore training. Please note that the total increase to a character's stat bonus from all enhancive effects (including 650) caps at +20."

It's listed that way in the spell description. I don't think it was something recently implemented, but I could be mistaken.

Fair enough. If I was a ranger, though, I would look to have that aspect of the spell changed. He may not be willing to budge on the duration, but it looks like this fact even surprised him.

Ha!
Good luck having 650 changed in any way.

That would be (and was) a Warden call. It's helpful to have a GM like Mestys advocating for something, but unfortunately it's not his decision.
It's sort of the opposite of AD, which requires Nilven's approval for any changes.
650 is the worst high level spell in the game.
It looks pretty fun.
But I was thinking INF is a shit stat to boost when assuming a lion aspect.
50 mana for two minutes of 10 AS? WOWOWEEWOW

That's like half the mana I get in a pulse. It doesn't seem so bad to me, though for being the ranger circle top spell, kind of lame.

Doesn't this make it like the ranger version of Surge of Strength?

Except mana regens far slower than stamina, and you can get a lot of it for far cheaper.

650 is the MacDaddy of Surge. You can increase virtually anything. Skills, stats, and even EBP. It's the versatility you pay for. People don't tend to be very creative with its use, but 10 AS (plus encumbrance lightening) at base functionality is just the tip of the dick, so to speak.

Cool, trade you it for planar shifting then?

I'll trade you 540 for it

If I had a skill to prolong 650's affects like EMC increases your chances of 540 working, I prolly wouldn't have half the complaints.
Also, I suggested at one point that 650 could be the Ranger's unstunning ability like the other semi's have, but no dice. :(

Hands off the 740. I'll eat you alive.
(in all fairness, how many post-20 spells *wouldn't* be traded for 740 if people had the chance?)
