Oh just saw your card. Looks nice. I was leaning on ravens especially after seeing the line jump from 3 to 1 at a lot of books 10 minutes before kickoff.

My book didn't move the line but set the juice at -140 for +3.. fuck that.

Hehe that's why we call it gambling.

That's what a lot of my non gambling friends said about my +15 Kansas city play and the arz play. :P

I like to be on the opposite side of the public opinion as part of my method.

It's a good rule of thumb but of course never absolute. I always start there however and then adjust as I go.

Today's highest public games against the spread.

Road Teams
Tampa Bay 73%
Pittsburgh 70%
Rams 69%
Browns 68%
Saints 66%
patriots 61%

Home teams
Packers 65%
Cinci 65%
Indy 60%

74% are on Patriots OVER 46.5
One of the reasons I'm on Pats under 31 1/2 team total.
I hope the bills stay true to history and play nasty vs NE at home tonight. This game isn't a COMPLETE mis match. I couldn't touch the sides on it but I don't feel completely terrible on my play.

Still time for the pats/bills numbers to change obviously. 2 hours to go.

Picked:
TB - Fading Atlanta
Pitt - good team vs mediocre Jets team
Rams - Fading 49ers
Browns - Fading Baltimore
NO - Picked Houston against public opinion
Packers - Fading Carolina
Cinci - Picked Arizona SU against public opinion

Decisions werent too hard imo.

San Diego had about 60% of the publics pick too, I took Jax.

Eh, I've got 3 losses this week and I doubt the Pats are losing this game ... that said ... I didn't have to go past the fourth post on the first page to know that Peam is at one loss (fucking steelers) up to the Pats game, and he has the Pats. So unless someone is going undefeated, I didn't bother going any further.

Each of those 23 picks he's behind the 158 are equal to a fat zero. If you want to put a percentage up it's based off of the total amount of picks that should have been submitted. The non submitted or fucked up turned in late all count as a wrong pick.

Points in a Pick'Em pool are based off correctly predicting which team will win each game. If you correctly choose the winning team you receive 1 point, if do not choose the winning team you receive 0 points. The person with the highest win total will be declared the winner.

Drew is currently hitting 51.89% vs Sean2 64.6%

Percentage don't count for shit unless you have the equal amount of picks. It is HIGHLY disadvantageous to not get your picks in on any sports pool. Missing a week almost guarantees you no chance.

We're playing by real rules this year as a result of last years whining. And it wasn't 12 week was it? Can't remember or find it and don't feel like digging right now. Feel free to post the link to those threads since I suck at pc search.

I do think my total picks were right up there with anyone who had a week more.

Yes it's for fun.. competition is fun right?

Stunseed

Especially after "this shit is just for fun" comment you made earlier in the season, is all.

Not vagina at all. It's in response to him constantly saying "I'm killing you in the pool" when it couldn't be further from the truth.

This shit is just for fun.. no money or silvers right? Competition enough is fun for me... What's the point to anything otherwise.

Latrinsorm

Lol you prick.:D
We're playing by real rules this year as a result of last years whining. The only people keeping score by "real" rules seem to be you and Tsa`ah.

As for last year, you ended up with 121 of 192 total picks, good for 10th in the league in terms of picks in.

And if you want to be a real stickler about this, you should probably remember that you never got a Monday Night pick in for Week 7, putting you at 64.2% by your reckoning. :)

Sean of the Thread
11-19-2007, 12:30 PM
I didn't count the colts game in my count.

And of course it's real rules. What's the point to having a pool otherwise?

Stunseed
11-19-2007, 12:31 PM
( Technically, I think I'm ahead of everyone, but that's beside the point :) )

I didn't see anyone vote or simply overall modify the season, I honestly thought we were doing AVERAGES to give everyone the same chance. We stopped idiots who pick 4 weeks of easy games a chance to top those dedicated, but for a no cashola system, we went for 75% which is 12 of 16 weeks. Whether or not we argue a full week or not is another story.

Latrinsorm
11-19-2007, 12:34 PM
We had a minimum the first year too. I consider it less due to "whining" and more due to common sense. I see only three real ways of resolving this issue:
1) Head to head comparisons only (extremely time consuming).
2) 0/0 for no pick, minimum required (not time consuming at all).
3) Compare penis sizes (and then I'd win going away every year, what fun would that be?).

Now if we had some reason to believe people were getting picks in late on purpose to somehow pad their stats, then we could resolve that as necessary. Unless and until that happens, I'm going with #2.

.

And I notice now that an edit will make this post appear like it came out of nowhere, but I'm going to post it anyway.

Sean of the Thread
11-19-2007, 12:36 PM
Honestly doesn't matter to me. Bottom line drew's claim that he's "killing me" rofl in picks is hilarious. He can't even figure out how to put a total point down.

When it's all said and done all that's going to matter to me and a few others is the final points based on a total seasons card.

One thing that should be in stone is late or non picks count for 0.

It's everyones responsibility to have their own picks in on time and correct. <shrug>

Do you only have the overall record of Drew and Sean2 or do you have the rest of them as well? Id like to see the standings.

I've since found out that it's very cumbersome doing it before MNF, so I'm going to stick with my "after week 13" idea.

If you do #3 for the guys, you have to add a #4 for the girls:

#4) Compare cup sizes (and then I'd get to win!)

I would prefer that if you miss a week, you either:

1) Get 0 points
2) Get points equal to the lowest win total of the week

My pool does #2. I mean, I could just not pick during the tough weeks just to jack my % up, but that's sneaky.

Seriously... if you don't pick, you don't get points. Tough weeks are meant to be tough, if you don't pick you don't get anything. I'm not exactly doing good or anything, but I'm picking.

This is NFL Picks, not NFL welfare.

Not rocket science.... Total Picks Correct/Total Picks Available... miss some tough shit, you lose out on your chance to win... NOTHING.
