Dwarven Empath

This is how it starts:

An Ithzir seer suddenly opens his eyes and stares directly at you!
Your connection to the spirit realm falters!
Spell Mobility (618) ended.
You no longer feel so dextrous.
Spell Strength of Will (1119) ended.
Your aura of resolve dissipates.
The white light leaves you.
Spell Lesser Shroud (120) ended.
The very powerful look leaves you.
Spell Empathic Focus (1109) ended.
Your mind's keen focus fades away.
Spell Spirit Barrier (102) ended.
The air calms down around you.

Then his buddy does this:

An Ithzir herald reaches into a pocket and produces a small silvery disc, which he tosses into the air. As the herald focuses his voice on the disc, it quickly expands to about three feet across and begins revolving rapidly around the herald!
The wind knocks you off your balance and you fall over!
Your arms are forced down to your sides!
Roundtime: 5 sec.
The wind then subsides.

Then of course this happens next:

An Ithzir seer suddenly opens his eyes and stares directly at you!
An Ithzir seer hurls a roaring ball of fire at you!
AS: +561 vs DS: +261 with AvD: +50 + d100 roll: +88 = +438
... and hits for 124 points of damage!
Left leg burned off at the knee. Ouch.
You are stunned for 10 rounds!
The guiding force leaves an Ithzir seer.
The roaring ball of fire strikes you, blossoming into a much larger sphere of flame upon impact.
... 6 points of damage!
Burst of flames to right hand burns fingers bright red.

Tag teamed.

Medi...

I'd rather feel pain then nothing at all.

Or it could be as simple as a griffin dive bombing you.

Either way, shit happens. :(

I love the combined efforts that happen in OTF. Definately makes hunting there fun, and challenging.

I can't wait until the group mechanics for monsters get implimented. It is in the works now.

A Ithzir Seer and Company just arrived!

Say Oh shit!

You cannot do that as you are stunned.

I like when you just walk into a room and die instantly before the description even has a chance to pop up.

>north

* Methais just bit the dust!

[Old Ta'Faendryl, Room You Just Walked Into]
Blah blah blah trees and foliage and ruins and stuff.
Also here: Monsters.
Obvious exits: south

Hasn't that been in the works since the end of the Civil War or something?

That would either be due to a lightning flare off a crystal weapon, which I doubt Methais would ever be instantly killed by (he was/is a wizard), or an Adept mote. You get more of that crap in the Rift an the Temple with implosion, or the Elementals maneuvers.

You're right. The instant deaths mainly happen in the rifts planes. All due to wandering voids or fled from preps of implosion.

I used to hate it.
There was usually still about 6 orders I'd typed into the wizard, that were backed up after the insta death.

insta-deaths used to happen to me in Pyros all the god damn time with their club smash and shard to the eye.

Fucking Assholes.

But the mutli-genning monsters should be fun. I loved the temple when they spawned 5 at a time in a company.

Loot x5.

What would be awesome to see is "warrior" creatures defending and guarding spell casting types. Or forming a phalanx or defending a creature that kneels pulls out a heavy crossbow and let's loose.

It is more along the lines of sticky mechanics. Once monsters meet up of a certain type, they will all start moving together.

I don't think it will work like that, but if it does, I will be happy. Heh.
