View Full Version : Ebon Gate Slabs

I have now used many, many slabs of material from the Ebon Gate slab maker.. and seeing how different slab products are sold for wildly different prices from slab to slab, I must conclude that the slabs were intentionally released with a penalty to forging and crafting. In all those slabs I've managed 1 single perfect, and only a handful of superior parts.

Also, I have seen an incredible jump in grinder failures that render the slab useless (tears off enough material so the glyph no longer fits).

Things seem to be going okay, but this is more difficult than you expected. After grinding for what seems like an eternity you realize that the scribed pattern has been chewed away, but the remaining vultite doesn't look like anything yet.

You decide the safest thing to do now is to re-scribe the vultite slab with the glyph and try again. That's assuming the slab is still large enough to hold the pattern.

Resignedly, you get to your feet.

Before EG I've never received this message... in a single day I've seen it dozens of times, and almost ALWAYS in groups of 2-3.

Here's the problem, My stats are even better NOW then they were BEFORE EG... so I should see an improvement, not a monumental and radical decrease in success.

If Staff is going to make these kinds of changes, when I've put this much effort into building my character around forging, then they owe us a reallocation to address the changes.

They owe you a reallocation.. because.. you're choosing to use slabs that (according to you) make forging harder?

No.. they owe me an allocation if they changed the skill itself to increase its difficulty

Since there are plenty of characters that were created before forging was released, do they too get a reallocation to accomodate those who find themselves with shitty stats?

It could just be harder to forge with vultite.

Do you have any full numbers on this? Toothpicks, partial failures, and so on out of total tries with the same material and pattern?

Why would an artisan skill change merit a reallocation?

Artisan skills are COMPLETELY voluntary. They are in no way required for advancement, or enjoyment of the game. In all honesty, they seem to be a major way to ensure you do NOT enjoy the game.

I believe this is also applicable.

Uh, the higher enchant metals are harder to forge with. I thought this was known already. Nothing's changed.
