As a result of some prodding by Naos, there are new speech verbs and tones available for your amusement. Specifically, the additions are as follows:

Verbs: admit, babble, continue, correct, grunt, interrupt, murmur, shriek, and stutter.

Tones: bright, distasteful, irritated, obnoxious, plain, scathing, and simple.

As always, SPEECH VERBIAGE LIST and TONE LIST will show you the complete lists.

Nearly all verbs and tones that I could see my character using, especially irritated for a tone, I always try to do that one.

This continues to be one of my absolute favorite additions to gemstone.

How in the hell do you use the tones and verbs? I've been wondering that for a while now.

"=VERB :TONE ::PERSON

"=Speculate :Thoughtful ::Katt Like this.

You can also change languages and throw your voice using certain symbols, but I don't know those by heart.

Wow, I didn't even realize there was verbiage in the game. When'd they roll that in?

And throwing your voice can be achieved by closed brackets: ]]

"]]wastebasket I love trash!

That'll attempt you to throw your voice to a wastebasket and make it sound like the wastebasket is speaking....in your voice. Gnomes can disguise their voices well enough that you cannot tell who is throwing their voice, which is why I've always thought a gnome would make an awesome assassin. Drop an assassin's marker of some sort, have it speak for you, kill, rg stealth get, rg stealth put marker in my backpack.

I love scathing just for the sarcasm/meta purposes.

Grumpy scathingly asks, "Anyone healing?"
Grumpy rolls his eyes.
<Some n00b heals Grumpy>
Grumpy scathingly says, "You're a tribute to your profession, really."
Grumpy glares.
