The group got the name Duran Duran from the film Barbarella, a psychidelic film from the late 60's. The film sucked. Jane Fonda did look great nude then.

Anywho, yes, I watch too much Where Are They Now on VH1. I was a closet Duran Duran fan. Much like a Rick Springfield or any other band that the women all loved.

Xcalibur, the 80's, Reganomics, Mall Hair, Weird Science, 16 Candles, Duran Duran, the Thompson Twins, Day glow clothing....wait, that sucked, and everything else about the 1980's ruled!! Well, if you spoke English, it did.

I'm so thankful I grew up in the 80's. The 90's wasn't bad either.

Duran Duran got the name from the late 60's film Barbarella. It was more or less about Barbarella (Jane Fonda) trying to find out about sex or having all these sexual experiments performed on her by Dr. Duran Duran. I think Dennis Hopper was in the film as well.

So, if you got a dollar and you find Barbarella in the dark corners of Block Buster....find your hook up and enjoy.

Xcalibur, the 80's had Reganomics, mall hair, the brat pack films*, weird science, the 2 Cory's**, dayglow clothing (that sucked), Night Court, Moonlighting, hair bands and most importantly.....MENUDO!!!***
