0145 GMT - South China's Guangdong province's government is probably going to help local toy manufacturers file a lawsuit against Mattel for destroying their reputation, a top official of the provincial fair trade bureau said Nov. 5. Chen Lipeng said Mattel's recall of more than 21 million Chinese-made toys this summer "strained the reputation of Chinese toy manufacturers" and caused them to lose a "great deal of money." He is currently meeting with U.S. and Chinese lawyers on how to file a suit in a U.S. court against Mattel.
