Amateurs... They don't know what they're doing. It might look cool in the dark if you were high on certain psychadelic drugs, but in reality, all of them would get clobbered if they tried those moves in a real martial arts program like kendo, or iaedo.

I'd wager that any 2nd or 3rd year High School fencer could go in there and beat the crap out of their 'grandmaster'.

That would be fucking awesome if someone started using Kenpo or Kendo weapon technique with the lightsaber. Or drunken wushu. Or porn :thumbup:

I got my degree paid for by a fencing scholarship at NYU. Unless there's someone else there with 10+ years of real fencing experience, I don't think I have anything to worry about...

And watching those videos were like watching two 4 year olds pick up a pair of sticks and start attempting to sword-fight with eachother.

CLASSES: At 440 STUDIOS, 440 Lafayette St., $10 ea. Astor Place, NYC
Our classes are currently divided into 2 sessions a week, TUESDAYS are Martial Conditioning and Appllication, THURSDAYS are more begginer/intermediate focusing on scene creation and staging fights. Bring a saber or stick, and comfy workout clothes!


Hmm.... Is it worth the $10?

Yea, I don;t get this at all. No one was actually showing talent in their "lightsaber" matches. Just doing what you do when you're a kid...

I guess if they were all auditioning for a movie/play that would be a pretty cool class...
