I think everyone here knows to some degree of certainty that Avantos is Khaladon? With that being said, does anyone have any idea what he'll do with the incredible amount of nice gear he has... do you think he'll quit and take all the gear with him?

It's something like "a sullen dark runeblade". It's a cool weapon actually, longsword based and somewhat crit weighted. I can't remember it's enchant though (it's on a parked char that I hardly ever hunt).

As for Warriorbirds repeated without even the OP responding request for Cademus to ask himself, I think this is his method of asking and he likely doesn't care enough to "hunt down" the answer as it's a "what do you guys think'll happen?" hypothetical.

Actually, if the last festival proved anything, general alters are becoming a bit harder to get. Especially at festivals. GMs are having a nasty habit of having their merchants ONLY work on one type of item, or ONLY working on items from their shop.

I think the opening weekend of Ebon Gate only had 1, maybe 2 general alterers. Sure, they are still more common than in days of old, but you would be surprised at how it is still a sought after service these days.

Certainly we can all agree that alters are sought-after regardless of their mechanical worth (0). It follows that a hypothetical SGM could let it be known privately that such positive attention or general worshipfulness would result in a measureably greater chance in being selected and allow the word to be spread by Gemstone's vibrant community.

Just because you don't find them valuable doesn't mean some people don't orgasm over their alters (see the Alterations threads).
