So, my new laptop I got this summer seems to have an issue with the desktop clock setting. It seems to always become slow. I set it atleast once a week to match my cell phone's time.

This week is was slow by 5 minutes. And I'd notice it froze every now and then. So anyone know what the issue is? I'm not too familiar with laptops. I have Windows Vista for an OS.

how often do you connect it to the internet? most computers update time regularly over the internet

Not sure why your computer would be doing that, but there are a number of programs you can use to sync your computer's time with the atomic time used around the world.

Here's one you can try for free.. and I know there is a free shareware version of this out there..

Ack, what the... no don't install new software for this, it's built into windows (depends on if it defaults to on or not, but yeah, double click your time, go to "internet time" tab) but thankfully several atomic clocks are free to point to:

All jokes aside, I haven't found any issues concerning this with Vista. And believe me, finding problems about Vista is easy to find.

So this has nothing to do my battery or anything inside?

Because it has been on now for 24 hours. Connected to the internet the whole time. I set the clock yesterday to the link provided. Today, it is a minute and 13 seconds slow again.
