View Full Version : Stat potion question.
Alright, I'm getting really close to earning the stat potion and I'm wondering how it's going to work. What's going to happen when I drink it? What am I going to need to do?
I don't wanna mess this up, so any info will be awesome.

Assumptions are bad but I always thought it just gave you a stat fix you can use via an inn check in. It isn't like a fixskills where you need to set your skills prior to drinking.

Drink it, go to your local inn, and one of the options will be to adjust your stats.
Have you ran through a spreadsheet to see how you want them to look?
Keep in mind you'll be adjusting them from when you intially rolled. IE, from your "Info start" output.

That's what I was wondering about, really. I'd be slightly upset if I set them for growth when you weren't supposed to.
I used Tsoran's to figure out what I need to set them as, but I'm not sure if I want to go with it. I'm on the fence between maxing out my influence so I can use my coraesine greatsword (causing my LO and INT to take a hit), or capping as many stats as possible.
Hrm.

You might think about getting INF/DIS enhancers for the backlash and maxing your other stats out.
Just a thought.

I would never set my stats in accordance to a weapon. If you do, you can guarantee 5 days after you set your stats, you're going find an uber weapon that puts the coraesine greatsword to shame. Then you'll feel like a duntz for planning your stats (fixed) around a weapon (interchangeable).
Max them out, and find some enhancers if the greatsword is really tough to use. After all, you never know when you're going to want to switch combat styles or weapons.
I heard (somewhere) that the coraesine weapons attune to you after awhile and the backlash stops. I also heard they don't. Any idea which is which?

If it is pure coraesine, I believe it goes away completely (and also has other special abilities). If it's impure, it'll double-strike and all that jazz, but I dont think the backlash goes away completely, just gets reduced.

I was told when I won my impure coraesine longsword that the backlash would eventually go away. It has 3 abilities, it has the air flare and that's all I've ever seen out of it.

Here's Krakii info on one of the pure ones. The other info is there as well

I have never once seen a double strike. Is that only after you are fully bonded or only for pure weapons? The abilites mine has are Wind's Whisper, Thorns of the Wild and Orb. Oh, and it has a kickass loresong and a couple fluff scripts. :)
Edit: Went back and looked at the loresong and the next to last verse shows it having a double strike, so maybe that's only after I fully bond with it.
"Dark cavernous walls surround you, and the lithe shadow of the Faendryl wielding you plays across the craggy surface. As you feel yourself whisked through the air and feel your edge slice into the body of another awareness...a strange energy courses through you, further amplifying your power -- allowing you to better understand the familiar presence which now wields you. Focusing your energies, you unleash a burst of essence, shrouding the one who wields you in a cloak of air -- propelling him into a second strike quicker than lightning against the alien presence, which expires"
I think you have the pure coraesine longsword, bruv.

Nope, I have the log of the merchant giving it to me, it's impure. Hehe.
