So. Anyone else have it yet?

Why the FUCK is the controller for the 360 not wireless? And NOT a black Gibson Les Paul? It's the SAME controller as for Guitar Hero 2. A (wired) white Gibson X-Plorer. And the PS2 version of the game that they had at the store had the cherry red Gibson SG, not the Kramer Pacer. Both the wii and the PS3 have the wireless Les Paul, argh.

I (and every else I know) was under the assumption that ALL the consoles were going to get wireless guitars.

Edit: Apparently it's because we got it at Walmart. Silly me for thinking that going to the 24 hr. Walmart to get the game at midnight would be a good idea. :(

Edit again: At least my bitch (Casey Lynch) looks REALLY hot. I'm buying that third outfit as soon as I can. :D

If more women justified things, "But at least my bitch looks really hot." the world would be a better place.

A lot of people have been complaining about the wireless guitars having really shitty button communication (or whatever) with the consoles, so I'm kind of glad now that mine is wired. We were debating about getting the PS3 version, but he decided he'd rather have the 360 one since all of our friends have 360s as well. *shrug*

Have you seen the singer guy yet? OMG, he's totally scary... his mouth is HUGE and CAVERN-like. He needs to keep that thing shut. :(

CLOSER by LACUNA COIL is a BONUS SONG!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! *excited fangirl squeal*

OMG. Changing the styles of the three outfits is like playing Gemstone Barbie. Casey Lynch + leather corset, or leather bra + purple, or crimson, or flames?! YESSSSS.

I don't even care about the other characters.

So, I just checked out the song list for it, and I saw "Layla" was listed. The site I went to said it was by Eric Clapton, but I was wondering if it was the kickawesome version he did with Derrick and the Dominos, or if it's the less awesome version he did by himself. Anyone know?

It took a couple of tries before I got the Wii video lag set to an appropriate time. It still seems a little off, so I may play with it some more.

I can't decide which version to get.

I've already got the guitar controller for the PS2, but that's wired, and has no online play.

The Wii version has the feedback and speaker in the guitar, and is online, but uses the crummy Nintendo friend code system. And if there's ever any downloadable content, the Wii has no hard drive.

The 360 version is online and has room for downloadable content. I'm leaning towards the 360 version, but I hate buying a second guitar controller.

360 ftw, because I love getting achievements!

I'm waiting for Rock Band. It's going to beat the diarrhea out of GH3, imho. Drums ftw.

A little late but I just picked this up. Not bad at all but the second guitar I bought is a small piece of shit. Anyways the girls like it but I need to score the first two games somewhere.

I just got it for the PS3 last week. It's the 1st one that I got out of the 3 and I'm enjoying it so far I've beat everything on easy now I just have to get used to medium, etc.

I finally beat medium... that last guitar off took me forever to beat. And now trying to convert to hard is really rough.

I finally beat Lou on medium a few days ago. Trying to get myself use to using that 5th key on hard mode. I'm easily hitting combinations that looked impossible to achieve the week before.

I personally think I should have jumped right into hard or medium from the beginning. I think it would have been easier than adjusting from 3 button.

Beating Lou on expert was absolutely ridiculous. I can't even count how many tries it took... at LEAST 10, because I got the achievement for failing any one song more than 10 times. :/

It'll take awhile before I can take on Lou in Expert. I don't think I'll ever touch the level of Priest on Youtube.

He plays expert on hyperspeed.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Activision Inc on Friday unveiled a new "Guitar Hero" video game focusing on the rock band Aerosmith, taking the billion-dollar franchise in a new direction.

Called "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith," the new game will arrive in stores this summer, a surprise to many analysts and fans who had expected the next title to come out closer to the year-end holiday shopping season.

Aerosmith, known for hits such as "Dream On" and "Sweet Emotion," is the top-selling American rock band of all time, with sales of 66.5 million albums in the United States alone.

The game will feature about 30 Aerosmith songs as well as others from various acts that have opened for the band. The price has not yet been set.

"The premise is that it's going to cover the 30-plus years of the band, from high school all the way through the rock superstardom of today," Kai Huang, head of Activision's RedOctane unit, which guides development of the franchise, told Reuters in an interview.

In the "Guitar Hero" games, players try to press colored buttons on a guitar-shaped controller in time with notes cascading down the screen. If the notes are hit, the song plays properly, and the player earns points.
Since the original "Guitar Hero" was released in late 2005, the series has gone on to sell more than $1 billion. Depending on the version, a bundle including the game and a controller costs from $80-$100, while the stand-alone game costs $40-$60.

When Activision reported quarterly earnings last week, analysts grilled the company on its plans for the franchise, expressing concern that sales would slow this year because many players who bought earlier versions with guitars would opt to buy the lower-price stand-alone game disks.
Huang said Activision had not yet decided whether it would offer a special controller with the Aerosmith game.

I swear it's becoming burnt into my retina.

It was expected. I was actually surprised a song like Dream On wasn't already part of their lineup. There's too many Aerosmith fans out there to just overlook a pure moneymaker.

For those who didn't know, the song 'Dream On' is available for download. According to a friend, it's free until midnight.

Sweet, downloading now. Thanks for the info.

Edit: Meh. 5-starred expert first try. Not really that difficult. If that's what we can expect from the Aerosmith full-priced expansion, I think I'll skip. Besides, Aerosmith isn't really known for their great guitar work.

But I did download the Classic Rock pack (Journey, Foreigner, and Boston), and those are pretty good.

This is sort of what I had during the big pokeman fad when I was twelve, though I'd hear the gameboy music from the game pretty much constantly, at a really low volume. I never knew if I was going insane, or if playing pokeman seven hours a day was just messing with me. (At the time, it was pretty much fourth and fifth grade culture, so we played during lunch, on the bus there and back, and hell, during class half the time, alongside at home)
