View Full Version : Will Simu crawl back to Khaladon?

Was he that essential of a GM? Was he a coder? Does he bring such a unique aspect to the game that losing him makes the game unrecoverable? If he can pull enough GMs down with him will Simu reconsider his firing?

Most importantly...

Will he save one final GM for a doomsday Ace card. When he finds out that he can never come back, that one GM can unleash 1000 10x Claidhmores and 1000 ebows all over the game?

Solomon's recent post sounds pretty final.

I vote/hope that the answer is no. Not necessarily because of Khaladon himself but because it would weaken the company's credibility considerably. They're already shaky with many of their customers as it is. At the moment, Simutronics and GemStone seem to have the feel of heroin. It hurts many of us, but most just can't put down the needle. They need to clean that up a little.

Looks like, no way, no how.

Well Altiron has been back a long while as a HJ GM... and didn't he get busted for some corrupt-ass shit with GS?

I haven't been following the who's who of Simu for some time now ... but they actually brought him on board for HJ?

I guess it looks like a safe play since he's not involved with an active game. Wonder if they'll shit can him or move him if it ever goes live.

Yes. He's been an HJ GM for a long while now.

No*

*Unless he filed for wrongful termination and is seeking reinstatement as part of the settlement/ruling. Otherwise, Khaladon will not be a bridge that Gemstone crosses back over for a very long time or unless its current executive leadership/management changes hands.

Make him a GM of a game that will never exist. That does seem like fitting punishment.

How can he file for wrongful termination? I thought OFF-site staff members were strictly private contractors. Private contractors can't file for wrongful termination, because they aren't fired employees of the company.

I do not remember Altiron having a problem, I thought he was still the wizard guru when he and the others (Brauden, Mindra, etc.) went to HJ.

:D

No, sort of but not really, no, no, and absolutely not.

at least they got rid of him instead of putting him in charge of Modus

This might be the dumbest series of questions I've ever heard asked on this forum.

I threw that in as an alternative hypothetical. Since I have no idea how Gemstone hires its staff.

If he's contract then why all the hype and shit for letting him go? Contract employees are a dime a dozen, its like a revolving door with that category no matter which employer I've worked at.

<<If he's contract then why all the hype and shit for letting him go?>>

Because he's KHALADON.

No, No, and No.

He isn't the only one who works hard as a GM you know, there are a lot of other GMs who work hard to make it such a great place. Just because they aren't out there parading it around doesn't mean they don't work as hard.

He's actually probably one of the few GMs I've seen adhere to the NDA in the recent exodus.

Why would he release claids? So 10 people who actually use them would jizz themselves?

That has to be the most pertinent statement I think I've heard anyone say about this whole Khaladon debacle.

I would like to take credit for that statement and say that I said it first.

Just saying.

Been saying it since the first day this whole thing went down. When people were saying in our chat room that they were going to leave because Khaladon did.

I feel like no one is taking into account that Lothwyn is a good GM and I think he does a really good job.

So, sorry.

Heck, I'd say most GS GMs work too hard.

I said it on GEnie before Khaladon was even hired, and back then we had to pay $30 per post and this was back when a nickel would get you a Model T with enough change left over to deliver a parcel to the frontier by Pony Express.

Was thinking about consulting the history books to one-up this, but that was pretty frickin' dandy. Good job :D
