As announced here, in the Khaladon Gone thread, Taiven is leaving the staff. I am posting it separately for those not following the thread.
----
Since I wasnt given the opportunity to say my goodbyes on the official boards, I guess I will do it here.
After several years as a GM I have decided to resign from my position. I have had lots of great memories with players and other GMs over the many years I have played GS and worked for Simutronics. Sometimes I loved the game and players to a fault. I can happily say that I consider many players, especially those from Plat, personal friends and I really have a heart for this game and the people who played it with me.
My decision to resign was a combination of many things, including time availability, real life issues, and priorities. The nail in my proverbial coffin was the loss of Paul/GM Khaladon, a close personal friend of mine as well as mentor. I grew up playing this game with Paul and later came to the GM staff happily with him as my team leader. As I think I said in PlatChat, GMing without him is a bit like an indian without a chief. I know a lot of people had their differences with him, myself included, but the last thing that anyone could say about him is that he didnt care about this game or the players. From someone who was behind the scenes with him, I can tell you that man busts his ass for this game. Whether you like him or not, the way you play this game and a large number of the items, scripts, events, etc that you play it with are likely something that he has been involved in.
With that aside, I still love this game and the players who play it. I will especially miss my Plat and Premium people and feel bummed that somone else will be taking over FWI and Mist Harbor and all the things I have spent years working on building, but I am happy that it will go on for players to enjoy. Take it easy on the other GMs. They do care, they do give up parts of their lives for this game, they are working under other peoples rules, so give them a slight break
Looking forward to being part of the player realm again,
Angela/GM Taiven
