I saw this in the Khaladon thread and just thought it would be neat to see the general consesus on this.

I'd have to think about it, odds are if the price went up I'd cancel out some of my added char slots to bring the price back down in line.

I voted for other because given that the systems are kept the same, I wouldn't pay more.

However if they did away with premium needing to cost extra and just increased the price of basic $5-10 to have those options, then I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Not a chance I would pay more.

High chance I would activate if the price was dropped.

Oh they should definitely drop the prices, however I'm a realist as far as Simu goes and they're all comfortable with the way things are and never see them drop them ever. Not when they complain about how they have to charge for events to pay the GMs who run them. If they're going to rationalize the high costs of events, they're going to rationalize how the membership isn't high enough either.

Imo they need to do 1 of two things, drop the price back to around $10, or add another char slot or two to each regular account. Its ridiculous that you have to pay $15 or so a month for 2 chars in a text game...

Basic only allows one character. Any additional ones is an extra $2.50, which is complete bullshit.

I don't know anything about the hierarchy of play.net. With that said, if they really wanted to increase numbers they'd drop their prices, and advertise a bit more.

I quit for a 2 year block, and come back on and off. I enjoy the game, but sure as hell wouldn't stick around if they increased the price again. Not because I am poor by any means. I currently have enough trouble justifying paying what I do for a standard account with a few characters for a text based game.

You want to increase profits you re-invest in the product and blablabla. You don't milk the living hell out of it, to dump money elsewhere/yer own pockets. All this emo soap opera drama is BS. there is always going to be text based games. A lot of people prefer them over visual RPG's. You just need to increase content, etc...

They'll be safe for awhile with all the folks with emotional attachments to their virtual self/gear. They really need to be a bit more business oriented. They could do well with both dragonrealms/gemstone and HJ.

and what the hells with gemstone? If you are looking through online text RPG's are you going to choose the one named "gemstone" to try out???

Only reason I ever started playing was a pal in the marine Corp got me interested.

Never got the flyer huh?

Anyone have that flyer, I thought I had saved it somewhere but... you know the one I'm talking about, AOL set out the postcard telling you to go to Keyword:Gemstone

They seriously need to advertise. In odd places, like sci-fi reading/writers magazines and such. Get the customer base up, and revenue would increase, even with a restoration of nominal pricing.

It's been WarriorStone for quite some time now. AM I RITE, ERIC?!?I don't play a sorcerer IG or a whiner IRL so it's still GemStone for me.

(Notes: I am neither suggesting that Dan is a whiner nor implying that all sorcerers are whiners.)
