The best part about the spell is that it will target the same part of the body until it crits it out. That means you are nearly always going to do a rank 3, just by means of stacking the wound.

Yeah guys, even if you dont see super huge numbers on a low warding, that spot is toast.

One cast is gonna incapacitate most critters. Doesn't look to shabby from a non empath point of view. (Although as with everything, I like seeing bigger numbers!)

31 points of damage on a 104 endroll... Seriously doesn't it bother anyone that empaths are getting buffed out the ass? A spell like this that just obliterates a single area is incredibly overpowered. I do tend to frequently bitch about overpowered spells, but this is pretty ridiculous, I understand that empaths don't really have a lot of options, go ahead and give them some, but it seems like they're forgetting just how freaking durable empaths are.

Personally, I think 1115 looks retarded awesome. Each successive crit cycle as good, and usually far better, than the previous cycle. If you got 150 ranks of SL:Summoning and got the 4th cycle all the time you would almost assuredly kill something.

Anyone done regression on the non-crit damage output given endrolls?

Neither do those endrolls. Griffins are fairly thick-skinned creatures with 401 health. You would be better off bolting it via web, then taking it out at your leasure with lower mana spells.

Let's discuss what those lores actually do for the spell.

Mental Lore, Manipulation alters the % that you get an instant-kill. This is not an instant kill from a normal crit, it's more like what first aid used to do for 1106.

Spiritual Lore, Summoning increases the chance for a fourth round of damage. Well, I'm not cap. I'd rather not waste points in a skill that MIGHT give me an extra 25 damage a cast.

Now, for channeling. I don't do it. Simple as that. Any hard RT that I find myself in while hunting is from an outside source. I won't be giving it to myself, thanks.

Haste amulets are easy to procure. Think of it this way, Himmy. If you don't kill the creature in the first hit, you're going to have to wait 3 seconds to cast at it again anyway. Start out with a channeled cast, then switch to cast after the most damage has been done.

Again, let me discuss what 'training' for this spell does.

Mental Lore, Manipulation: Affects the chance that you get an instant-kill which ignores damage and crits. (Much like first aid used to do for 1106)

Spiritual Lore, Summoning: Each rank gives you a 1.5% (cumulative) chance to get an extra damage roll per cast. So, looking at my numbers from my post with the griffin, I might or might not have done a grand total of 100 extra damage between those six casts. At what cost in TPs?

And, no. I never said that Simu sucks. I said this spell sucks. I suppose I could have been more eloquent and said "This was a nerf, plain and simple."

Well, I've changed my empath's skills to 1x in manipulation, 1x in summoning, 1x in mental mana control, and honestly, when using 1115 and 1106 at 53 levels against snow madrinols, glacial morphs, and animated slushes, I've seen nothing that makes me feel these spells don't work well anymore.

I'm averaging around 90-100 damage per cast with 1115, and around 75-80 with 1106. I'd say that's pretty useful.

On a side note, I also noted that my 111 casts now cycle much better than they did, and the damage they do on the cycles against secondary targets are much better as well. (In the 30'sh range, as opposed to 10 range for damage)

That extra damage role looks to be quite substancial. I would definitely train to get that as often as possible.

Empaths now have 3 awesome attack spells. My favorite is still Empathic Assault, though.

Empathic assault is nice, but my issue with using it for my character is that I normally only use that spell if I can't ward the creatures TD effectively enough to use 1106 or 1115. The benefit to 1110, is that it has a second attack, giving the spell more damage. However, that second attack is CS based. So, I just stick to using 111 for AS attacks unless the creature is not vulnerable to fire.

I have to say I'm thinking I'm just going to stay with 1106. It's now taking me 3 casts to kill instead of one or two- but hey I can live with that. Wither is ok, but not worth the mana. I agree with Himmy, it sucks, but hey we knew this was coming, so now either sell or deal. (And Himmy I hope you do the latter.)

I'm really not wanting to dump my first aid- but it looks like I'm going to need to- to be effective anyway. Anyone else facing this dilemma?

An observation:

The crit ranks on 1115 are always the same if not better than each previous crit cycle. Given a decent endroll, I'm wondering if getting the 4th crit cycle is like getting an automatic rank 9 on whatever location it hits; it's probably a new location and higher probability of being a vital area too.

Wither is too much mana. But it's kickass.

1106 works like a charm.

For those who have posted screen shots. Would you share your training as well?

I've noticed a decrease in power, but the only lores my empath has are Manip Lores. Also, I only have SMC and no MMC. I know that has to be hurting me.. I want to fixskill, but I'm afraid to mess it up!

I noticed when I added 20 ranks of MMC, up from zero, I increased my bone shatter crits by about 10 damage apiece. I don't really mess around with manipulation lore, my spells do fine damage to kill without messing with a random chance for instakill.

I would say 240 is a lot like 650, where people near/capped get good use out of it, and people way post cap can actually destroy things with it. Except 240 is better.

50 ranks will give you 33.33 chance for an extra cycle.

From my observations, I think that 4th critical cycle is really worth it. However, my first priority would be CS.

I have her in robes, but that's it. I did have her in doubles, and dropped her to robes for some testing since I had a fixskills left over from last year's annual one, and it was getting close to this year's. After testing, I found that with a shield, brawling and spells I was pretty well set. I felt like if she gets hit in fulls or doubles, its going to hurt anyhow, so I might as well bump up my spells and CS, along with other skills to provide DS to prevent it as much as possible.

Granted, I may change my mind later, but for now, I'm content in robes. Its not something I'd recommend everyone do, obviously. Just happened to be what works for me right now.

The ranks in summoning will help a great deal if you are concerned about a 4th cycle. In my opinion, having a fourth cycle is pretty important for an empath because well..if we get hit, we're in trouble. Making sure that we get that fourth cycle will help prevent that, by increasing our chances to kill since it does more damage.

However, I would also recommend that you have 1x manipulation, if you don't already because it helps increase the possibility of crit kills.

There's really never a mechanical reason to wear robes.

Medi I'm still getting 3 hits, gonna have to chat with you. Still haven't decided what I'm going to do training wise, but I see no need to keep first aid because I don't skin anyway at this point.

I've seen this each time I get an insta-kill from Wither. Nothing left to loot, so the treasure just drops.

This happens at the end of every 1115 provided you don't crit kill the creature first. It's not a crit cycle.
