Bonaduce won't face charges for body slam
Associated Press
Article Last Updated: 10/05/2007 08:55:13 PM PDT

Danny Bonaduce won't face charges for giving former "Survivor" contestant Johnny Fairplay a face-plant on stage at an awards show.

A charge-evaluation document released by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Friday said there was "insufficient evidence" to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Bonaduce committed battery because Fairplay "initiated contact and acted offensively."

Fairplay, 33, said he underwent 2 hours of dental surgery after Bonaduce tossed him over his shoulders at the Fox Reality Channel's Really Awards on Tuesday.

The evaluation worksheet said Fairplay jumped on Bonaduce, "wrapped his arms and legs around the suspect and thrust his pelvis into the suspect's body."

Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey Boxer wrote that Bonaduce did not intentionally injure Fairplay and his "actions fell within the realm of self-defense."

Fairplay's police report claimed Bonaduce walked on stage uninvited and made a "derogatory statement."

Fairplay later said he was giving Bonaduce a hug, one of his signature moves.

I don't know either of them, but I think that ruling was wrong. Bonaduce should have faced charges. I mean the other guy was really stupid for doing what he did - but he obviously wasn't harming Bonaduce. Tossing someone over your head is deliberately trying to hurt them. He could have just pushed him off or dropped him forward on his back etc..

Uh, the dude from Survivor jumped on him and started humping him. Bonaduce had every right to toss him off. Are you telling me that if some tool you didn't like jumped on you and started humping you, you wouldn't use force to remove him? I'd call bullshit if so. Or maybe you'd take a minute to think about the least painful way (for the humper) to remove him? C'mon ;)

Of course I wouldnt like what the idiot did, and I would try to remove him. Hence why I said he was being stupid. And Im not saying I would do it differently, Im saying it could have been done differently.

It was an obvious attempt at hurting the guy. He should have been charged. If they want to argue that the other guy was being abusive as well, charge him too.

But he knocked the guys teeth out, he should be in trouble of some sort.

:yeahthat:

Next time, the idiot will probably think twice before forcing himself on someone.

I also doubt Bonaduce was thinking, let's see how I can break this faggot's face! No intent + self defense = no charges.

Seeing only the two videos of Bonaduce from these links, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Bonaduce got on stage in order to cause trouble, and possibly hurt the guy.

But yeah I see your point.

According to one of the YouTube comments, Bonaduce was apparently saying before the show he wanted to kick the guy's ass.

Either way...

Assault is simply unwanted, unwelcome touching without a person's consent. Therefore, what Fairplay was doing was assault, and Bonaduce had a right to reasonably defend himself. Throwing the guy off him is a reasonable response.

If someone jumps on you and begins to hump your chest/face, there's nothing illegal about hurting them in the process of getting them off you.

If he started booting him on the ground when it was obvious that he was no longer a threat then it'd be excessive.

Its not Bonaduce's fault the guy decided to break is fall with his grill instead of his hands/shoulder/etc.

That was NOT a fucking body slam. Bah.

Danny B. ... is like the Chuck Norris that took steroids and visually reflects it in every way/shape/form possible.

There is also no fucking way that a lot more of the shit he does isn't pre-staged or he'd be punching a Mike Tyson hole in the wall behind bars. I mean, he is white, but still.
