Don't have a link, sorry. If that bothers you, don't read this. Or fuck off. Or become a super grandkid. Or all three.

Red Sox fan assaulted in New York

BOSTON -- A Quincy man is nursing multiple facial fractures after a group of men who had earlier asked him if he was a Red Sox fan went on to attack him in New York.

Police in Yonkers say two men from Pennsylvania were arrested and charged with second-degree felony assault on Carlos Ortez.

The Boston Globe reports that the 25-year-old carpenter was in New York to work on a construction project in a Manhattan hotel.

He was watching a Red Sox-Angels playoff game with colleagues at a bar when another patron asked them if they had pride in Boston.

That man was later joined by two other people who approached the construction workers from behind as they left the bar.

Police said they attacked Ortez after he parted ways with two colleagues. The assailants fled after the two returned to help him on witnessing the assault.

Ortez's employer tells The Globe he is in the intensive care unit at Westchester Medical Center.

Yeah but Yankee's fans are only getting what's coming to them. But if you think that's bad, you should see what happens to Dutchmen in Miami.

Feel free to make a thread about Red Sox fans jumping Yankees fans anytime.

I've accepted that everyone loves to hate the Yankees but I guess it still beats being a Boston Red Sox fan. Then I'd probably get shot in the eye with a non lethal projection by my own police force for celebrating a series win.

You have to be hardcore to be a Red Sox fan.

I went to 4 bosox/yankees games this year at the stadium... fights left and right from both sides. It's a beautiful rivalry.

This still doesn't come anywhere close to soccer hooliganism but it's retarded nonetheless.

Coming to blows or ambushing someone from behind (pussies) over a sports team? R-Tard nation.

Er, I meant since Pettitte started the game, heh. By happy I meant the ... the other happy. Bah!

When you have Mariano even remotely flustered at ump calls, there is something amiss. Was a good game, though (despite that I've never seen a Cleveland game where the locust descend like that without being delayed.)

As a random tidbit that Sean can probably attest to, there's way more security escorts in Yankee Stadium during a subway series in the upperdeck than any home game I've been to against the Sox, percentage-wise. Like whoa. Might be because a more mixed crowd causes armies to assemble. Those are the most volatile games by far.

I will agree that you have to especially suck to pick a fight in White Plains. Although, I have to admit, sometimes I used to feel like punching people in The Westchester. Or The Galleria. And all the skank bitches in The Cross County Mall, except that'd probably be the place to have parking lot fisticuffs if ever there were one.

Malls make me pissed me off in general though.

But now I live down in LA surrounded by rednecks that worship Dale Earnnhardt and are at the bars for 7am :(

Ah. Boylston i also a town next to Worcester. I never learned my way around Boston, I was 16 when I moved down to this redneck land.

Bob lives somewhere in MA. So does Arkans, Cassioppia (or Lylonna or whatever toon she plays now), Ilvane, Khaladon, and there's a rumor that Warclaidhm might be moving to the area soon too so he can hang out with everyone.
